Buddy, doctors and scientists also told me to take 1 suboxone pill a day, every day, when in fact, I needed 1/8th of a pill, as did the vast majority of addicts, and at most 1/4th in extreme opiate/heroin addiction cases (those guys were/are being told to take 2-4 pills per day). Doctors and scientists tell us grains aren't bad for you, porn and daily masterbation is good for you, and so forth and so on.

In the end it's up to you to make judgement. Listen to what your body tells you.

Doctors and scientists are not infallible and they do make errors. However doctors and scientists help provide cures for the world through their FACTUAL STUDIES . They should not be brushed off due to a amount who still live in the stone ages. There are some forward thinking scientists who are reassessing the idea that porn and and masturbation are indeed healthy.

Through studies doctors and scientists have found cures and treatments for thousands of different diseases. They are the sole reason we no longer die from simple issues like an infection of the tooth or small pox

I'm not telling anyone what to do as I could care less what you do with your time as I do not know nor care about you enough. Nothing personal as I'm sure you feel the same. The point is it the negative effects of television has been scientifically proven and is far beyond of notion of it being a mere 'tin foiled hat' conspiracy theory.

Well.. this was a rather interesting and rather entertaining read..

Just an article I've read and that looked pretty interesting as well..

We have been told that the state of our world is purely the result of our inherent human nature, and that nothing will ever change the way we operate on earth. Some even say we are born ill intended, and learn the “good values” through stringent parental, educational or religious discipline. Even though this version of the story has been adopted and repeated by many, we are going to take the road less travelled. Instead of qualifying our true nature as predetermined and unchangeable, could it be that the current state of humanity is the result of a second nature?

By definition, a “second nature” is an acquired behaviour that has been so long practiced to the point where it seems innate. It is a conditioning of consciousness, rather than a fundamental characteristic of consciousness. Considering the fact that humanity’s consciousness has been externally influenced and led for a very long time, shouldn’t this lead us to question how much of our behaviours and aspirations are actually ours?

Without a doubt, our society is programmed to sell us on competing belief systems, political views, brands and products, and the list could go on forever. After all, maintaining the trend of such mindsets is what is profitable to the system. Whether it is a president that promises national security, a deity that promises heaven, a cream that promises beauty, a substance that promises relief, a car that promises attention, a career that promises prestige, or a luxurious lifestyle that promises eternal happiness, this system is an expert at creating billions of needs only to sell us on ideas and products that promises to satisfy them. This is accomplished mostly through the mainstream media, which has proved itself efficient in implementing a set of belief systems and mindsets that either keep the mind distracted or encourage people’s trust and dependency to the infrastructure. TV shows, movies, magazines, the news, education, or organised religion all tend to either implement a sense of patriotism, materialism, idolism, conformism, or any compliant mindset that seem to fit the bill of an authority figure. This constant external leadership and media influence has made us accustom to the concept that birth, education, career, consumerism, taxpaying, debt management, retirement and death, are the primary guidelines of our human experience.

Instead of leaving this automated cycle unquestioned, let’s finally question it. Why is it this way, and most importantly, what for? Does the belief that this is all there is to life feel like an absolute truth?

“The bottom line is that the government is getting what they ordered. They do not want your children to be educated. They do not want you to think too much. That is why our country and our world has become so proliferated with entertainments, mass media, television shows, amusement parks, drugs, alcohol, and every kind of entertainment to keep the human mind entertained, so that you don’t get in the way of important people by doing too much thinking. You better wake up and understand that there are people who are guiding your life and you don’t even know it.” – Jordan Maxwell

The thought that the ones in power may not have the benefit of the whole at heart have been highly ridiculed. And so are the whistleblowers, experts or ex-government officials/employees sharing such information. The word conspiracy has even been paired with “theory”, because people in general have better things to do than to research information that is being labeled as “theoretical”, right?

The simple question we should ask ourselves in order to break the cycle of dismissing alternative information is: why would authority give any credibility to those who question and challenge authority?

Indeed, promoting information that would enlighten the mass and jeopardize your power and control wouldn’t be a very smart strategy. Hence, why the bankers, who are pulling the strings on our governments, also spread their influence through the five massive and integrated corporations that dominate most of the mainstream media.

These five huge corporations are Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch’s Corporation, Bertelsmann of Germany and Viacom. They own most of the newspapers, magazines, books, radio and television stations, and movie studios of the United States. The agenda behind this concentration of media ownership is simply to control and regulate the information that is being spread on a mass scale. Ultimately implementing a set of belief systems and mindsets that will either distract the mind from ever questioning the state of the world, or support the ways of our system.

“(…) The ones who have access to the media, including the intellectual journals, and who essentially control the educational apparatus, should properly be referred to as a class of ‘commissars.’ That’s their essential function: to design, propagate and create a system of doctrines and beliefs which will undermine independent thought and prevent understanding and analysis of institutional structures and their functions.” – Noam Chomsky; Chronicles of Dissent (quoted by Jim Keith)

It is mostly through this constant exposure to the mainstream media, and an overflow of mind-numbing entertainment, that we have been gradually trained to think and respond in a certain way, without ever questioning the powers that be. Whether it is TV shows, movies, magazines, the news, education, or organised religion, all are mostly designed to either implement a sense of patriotism, materialism, idolism, conformism, or any compliant mindset or belief that fits the bill of a ruling class.

    - You need money, you need material goods, you need a shiny car, a beach body and Olay creams to feel good about yourself.

    - Get a degree, go to work, consume, watch TV, praise celebrities, pay your taxes, save up for retirement, vote, support your government, and don’t question the status quo.

    - You are on a quest for truth? Here is a variety of religions you must not question, because without such a securing spiritual identity, your soul is in danger of grave punishment.

    - Search no further, mainstream science provides all answers. We are here by coincidence, we are victims of our genes, and this is all there is to life.

This ruling class does not only hold the authority to regulate all that we read, see and hear when it comes to mainstream information, but is also in charge of the education system; a system shaped into the image and interests of industrialism.

    The Education System

“That erroneous assumption is to the effect that the aim of public education is to fill the young of the species with knowledge and awaken their intelligence, and so make them fit to discharge the duties of citizenship in an enlightened and independent manner. Nothing could be further from the truth. The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed and train a standardized citizenry, to put down dissent and originality. That is its aim in the United States, whatever the pretensions of politicians, pedagogues and other such mountebanks, and that is its aim everywhere else.” – H.L Mencken

From a very early age, children are being taken from their most pure, open, and creative state of being, and they are put into a regulated institution where they are shown how to conform along the rules of a society, what they need to know in order to get a degree, what it means to be “intelligent”, and what an ideal career is. Education, which was once meant to be a resource for enlightenment and further expansion, has been turned into a regulating factory. Everyone, despite his or her uniqueness, is expected to consistently perform through standardized testing. Whenever they don’t, it is seen as a “failure”.

“Between these cinderblock walls, we are all expected to be the same. We are trained to ace every standardized test, and those who deviate and see light through a different lens are worthless to the scheme of public education, and therefore viewed with contempt.” – Erica Goldson

Standardization has become such a priority, that the moment a student diverges from this norm, or loses interest in regards to this academic version of reality, it is being labeled as ADHD, and is often prescribed medication. To put it simply, the unique and natural state of a human being isn’t good enough. If it takes brain altering drugs to make an unique individual more compliant to the rules, then the education system is all for it.

“An aesthetic experience is one in which your senses are operating at their peak, when you are present in the current moment, when you are resonating with the excitement of this thing you’re experiencing, when you are fully alive. “Anaesthetic” is when you shut your senses off and deaden yourself to what is happening. And a lot of these drugs are that. We are getting our children through education by anaesthetizing them. And I think we should be doing the exact opposite. We shouldn’t be putting them asleep, we should be waking them up to what they have inside of themselves.” – Sir Ken Robinson

We are basically being trained to memorize information, and regurgitate it over and over again on a piece of paper, on which the mark obtained determines our worth. It matters not if an individual feels no interest or passion along the lines of this protocol, for it is the one and only way to obtain a diploma -which, again, is a piece of paper that makes us worthy. Worthy as what? Worthy as compliant citizens.

“… I contest that I am a human being, a thinker, an adventurer – not a worker. A worker is someone who is trapped within repetition – a slave of the system set up before him.” – Erica Goldson

Human beings are essentially being labeled as either “successful” or “non-successful”, “academic” or “non-academic”, depending on the process and success rate of their conditioning. As a result, the unique potential within each and everyone of us is being suppressed to fit the bill of this particular industrialist vision. We are being taught the basics of language and logic, yet our minds become saturated with the obsession of getting “good grades”, as opposed to thinking for oneself, attaining true knowledge and expanding ones awareness.

“Since the advent of “progressive education”, schools have not been intended to educate, but simply to regiment.” – Jim Keith; Mass Control: Engineering Human Consciousness

It is simply a matter of observing the world and how it operates, to consequently realize how the educational system is not aimed at expanding our consciousness, but is rather shrinking it to the one of the industrialist system it supports. As a result, we find ourselves abiding to the same standards over and over again, without ever expanding our awareness beyond what our system stands for.

While we should be learning about the scientists and physicists trying to spread awareness about potent and non-polluting free energy technologies, we are being taught that we have no other alternatives than oil, for the sake of protecting an oil-based economy. While we should be learning about these patients having been cured from cancer with alternative and safe treatments, we meanwhile are trained to laugh at such information, continually treat it with the same dangerous procedures, and perpetually raise money for cancer research funds. While we should be encouraged to think for oneself, do our own research, question the world we live in, and be a pioneer of change, we are instead being told what to think, we are being told where to research, we are being told to support the system, and we are expected to conform rather than to ignite change.

While we should be uniting as one in order to create a more harmonious world together, we rely on dictatorship, remain separated, and are encouraged to live our lives as working citizens, with the main priority of making enough money to survive.

“And now here I am in a world guided by fear, a world suppressing the uniqueness that lies inside each of us, a world where we can either acquiesce to the inhuman nonsense of corporatism and materialism or insist on change. We are not enlivened by an educational system that clandestinely sets us up for jobs that could be automated, for work that need not be done, for enslavement without fervency for meaningful achievement. We have no choices in life when money is our motivational force. Our motivational force ought to be passion, but this is lost from the moment we step into a system that trains us, rather than inspires us.

We are more than robotic bookshelves, conditioned to blurt out facts we were taught in school. We are all very special, every human on this planet is so special, so aren’t we all deserving of something better, of using our minds for innovation rather than memorization, for creativity rather than futile activity, for rumination rather than stagnation? We are not here to get a degree, to then get a job, so we can consume industry-approved placation after placation. There is more, and more still.” – Erica Goldson

Metal, you're too emotionally involved it seems to have a stake in debate.

And yes, my credentials on subliminal messages are superior to that of a doctor or scientist, I made no mention of gray matter, white matter, or formation of the brain. In fact, my main argument was that there's no way that tv can "control" you and any other effect caused by tv period was your choice to subject yourself to in the first place.

Fact is people are acting like the mere presence of tv will suddenly turn you into a zombie.

The tin foil hat reference was crude, but it got my point across, no? It seemed to have effected you in a way I never knew it would. It was never intended as an insult, yet you took it as one. That says a lot, moving on

The subject I was addressing mostly was subliminal messages. Really, you overestimate their power, more often than not if you feel change happening in you it is due mostly to you, not outside influences. Don't try to tell me otherwise, you have not had my living situation which I could cite as a 20 year longitudinal study on how to influence human psyche.

Mencken is also, in my opinion, a fool. Public education can indeed be used in such a way, but to target one particular country when the US has been less influenced by its government and still has the most freedom of any country to date is foolhardy.

I have not yet seen a Hitler rise to power here.

There have been no monarchs here with which to directly control people.

I have in my own experience expressed my freedom of speech when and how I felt like. I am still breathing.

    I own a gun.

I form my own ideas, not what some stupid outlet puts out on the radio or whatever.

If you want to start bashing a country for using public powers to control people start with North Korea please.

Anyway, back to Metal's points, (or rather his over-defensive insults, no idea why you would attack me...?) Thing is Metal, if tv was so powerful, why is it you have no succumb to it? Or Laurynas, or UD, or anyone here for that matter? My point still stands, any changes you feel or anything really pushing you in one direction or another is YOU.

There are studies that prove tv in fact makes people more docile, and yes, extended use can lead to changes in white and gray matter. But let me you ask you one simple question.

I absolutely guarantee that use of this forum and any technology beyond what has been invented since the 19th century alters base human nature in some way or another.

What is being suggested (whether you know/intended it or not) in the undertone on your side of this debate/thread is that we should not watch tv, use the internet, or cellphones. They are all sources of media right? I suppose all I could use on my smartphone is the call/text right? I suppose all I could use my TV for is to watch a film now and again, and I suppose I could only use this pc to type papers, but there is much more all are capable of.

In some way or another each is a useful tool. In a modern world, you should use at least 2 out of the 3.

I never, not once called out those studies or doctors at all, leave that accusation to people who have made it explicitly clear they have, I was simply saying, the tone of this thread, as well as the many, many, many quotes I could compile here suggest that media is this all powerful source of zombifying mind control.

I have neither the time nor the patience to indulge you as to the quotes I could pick, if you are so interested, find them yourself.

If I told you about the studies Gary collected and exaggerated the effects of porn use to the point where it makes it seem as if you would be a mediocre, near-homeless, minimum wage worker with no ambition and no life, you would call me out, knowing that it was not only one's choice to PMO, but that the effects of PMO aren't nearly as bad as I made them sound.

ED is bad, yeah, but all in all, you can be a successful, and fully functional PMO addict with friends. You can watch 50 hrs of tv a week and still be just as successful. The same goes for internet use.

It feels like this thread is exaggerating, if you can't agree with me on the tone I am pointing out, I think you may watch more tv than you think (ok that was below the belt but I had to <3 I'm jk).

But seriously, look at the picture Laurynas posted above of that drooling kid, zombie or what? Maybe I am blind but the tone is definitely summarized perfectly there, as is my point about over-exaggeration.

But one person I will say I have some agreement with is Mr. Maxwell. He uses the CORRECT word. *Guiding* People aren't being "controlled" that is extreme, guided by influences, yes, I can definitely see it.

He mentions entertainment. Ok overdose of it is bad, but even Shaolin monks had different forms of entertainment. Everyone needs to blow steam off, simple as that.

It isn't like I haven't seen the effects of dumbass rap artists on kids today, or the effect of Jersey Shore on many females I've known etc...

But to use the word "control" is out there for sure. Besides, like I said, no one forced them to watch it.

I grew up with dumb media and idea that I could have taken on and a mainstream culture I could have joined, why didn't I? I wasn't put under a trance, and neither were you apparently.

I wonder if studies have been done on whether or not mind control via media theories have effected people's beliefs. I think I'd like to see something about that.

If anyone is interested in this subject, you may find the work of John Taylor Gatto interesting. John was named New York City Teacher of the Year in 1989, 1990, and 1991, and New York State Teacher of the Year in 1991. In 1991 he quit, announcing in the Wall Street Journal that he no longer wished to "hurt kids to make a living."

He continues to be a very outspoken critic of public schooling in America.

I can provide more links, if anyone is interested.

Interesting article with lots of different articles involved, man has done his research well and the article is well-written.

    Michael Snyder, Contributor.

Do you believe that you really think for yourself? Did you come up with your attitudes, opinions and beliefs on your own, or are they continually being shaped and molded by someone else? Could it be possible that you and everyone around you is actually hooked into a real life version of “the matrix” that is constantly defining your reality for you?

Sadly, the truth is that almost all of us have willingly hooked ourselves into a colossal media system that literally tells us what to think. In the United States today, the average American watches 153 hours of television a month. We also spend huge amounts of time watching movies, surfing the Internet, reading books and magazines, playing video games and listening to music. Many Americans are so addicted to being “connected” that they will actually become physically uncomfortable if they are at home and there is total silence.
Unfortunately, as I pointed out in a previous article, somewhere around 90 percent of the “information” that we are allowing to be endlessly pumped into our heads is owned by just 6 gigantic media corporations. So could it be possible that the thousands of hours of “news and entertainment” that you are allowing these gigantic corporations to fill your head with each year is having an effect on you? Does the mainstream media have more control over you than you ever dreamed possible? If you want to continue on in blissful ignorance, stop reading now, but if you want to take “the red pill”, keep on reading because the further down the rabbit hole you go, the stranger that things get. When you go to work or to school in the morning, what is everyone talking about?
Usually, people are talking about something that they saw on television or that they heard about in the news.

In our society today, the limited interactions that we do have with other people are usually defined by our mutual connection to the media. The mainstream media literally defines for us what is important and what is not. If the mainstream media does not talk about something, then it simply does not matter.

I don’t know how many times over the years I have heard someone tell me some version of the following statement: “If that was true we would have heard about it on the news.”

Has anyone ever said something similar to you?

The funny thing is that most of the time I won’t even mention something important that I may have heard in one of my articles unless I can back it up with a “mainstream source”, and I don’t even trust the mainstream media.

I know that the mainstream media often distorts the facts and often tells outright lies, but I regularly link to them because that gives my articles more “credibility” in the eyes of those that are still fully hooked into the matrix.

In a world where the big media corporations have so much power, is there any hope for us?

As long as the big corporations that control the media are dominating and controlling the conversation, is there any chance that there will ever be a mass awakening among the American people?

Our young people seem particularly addicted to being constantly “connected” to the media matrix that is being constructed all around us.

The following is a brief excerpt from a recent article by Daniel Taylor

According to a 2010 LA Times report, young people spend on average 53 hours a week watching TV, playing video games, and sitting at the computer.

Facebook users spend about 15 hours a month on the social networking site.

People are walking – and driving – blindly while texting, sometimes walking into fountains and even falling off cliffs.

Wow – our young people spend more than 200 hours a month connected to the mainstream media?

But we only have about 480 waking hours a month to work with.

If they are being exposed to that amount of continuous propaganda, what hope do our young people have?

In the old days, kids actually played with each other in the streets and adults actually left their homes to interact with one another.

But these days we spend nearly all of our time sitting passively in our homes staring at flickering screens.

Is that a sign of a healthy society?

We were created to be social creatures. We were designed to love and to be loved. But these days people “love” their favorite sports teams or they “love” their favorite television shows but we have an increasingly difficult time having real relationships with each other.

Meanwhile, the global elite rely on the mainstream media to keep us distracted and to control the boundaries of public discourse. Most of the time, the mainstream media focuses on the latest celebrity scandal or the latest dogfights between the Republicans and the Democrats and they systematically ignore many of the more important things that are taking place out there.

Let me just give you one example of how the mainstream media shapes the news. For decades, there was almost a complete and total media blackout on the Bilderberg Group meetings that happen every year. Top newspaper executives from the United States would actually attend these meetings, but then their newspapers would not say a single word about them.

If anyone out there did bring up “the Bilderberg Group”, they were dismissed as wacky “conspiracy theorists” and were told that it simply does not exist.

Of course now we all know that it does exist, although the mainstream media in the U.S. still mostly ignores it. In fact, this has been by design. The following is what David Rockefeller is alleged to have said during a Bilderberg Group meeting back in 1991…

We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. … It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the world is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.

Even today, many prominent “journalists” in the U.S. mock people when they bring up the Bilderberg Group. For example, Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC says that he is “way too lazy” to look into the Bilderberg Group and that he “doesn’t know about it, so it must not exist”.

For much more on the connection between the mainstream media and the global elite, please see this article: “Who Runs The World? Solid Proof That A Core Group Of Wealthy Elitists Is Pulling The Strings“.

Instead of telling us what is really going on in the world, the mainstream media keeps us endlessly distracted. The following are just a few of the headlines that can be found on the front pages of major mainstream news sites right now…

-College student creates condom delivery service

    -Michael Douglas is feeling ‘good’

    -Golf tournament delayed by kangaroos

    -Rock ‘n’ roll hamburger experience

-Lady Gaga cancels tour, set for surgery

Wow – those are some examples of some really hard-hitting journalism right there.

So why do most Americans continue to fall for this nonsense?

Sadly, part of the reason is because we have become so “dumbed down” as a society.

Recently, the Guardian conducted an evaluation of the reading level of every State of the Union address in U.S. history. What they found is that Barack Obama’s State of the Union addresses have had the second lowest reading level average in history, and that in general the reading levels of the speeches have been significantly declining over time.

But it is not just our presidents that appear to be getting stupider. The truth is that our public education system is a total joke at this point. Many of our high school students are as dumb as a rock, and if you can believe it, 23 percent of all Americans cannot even read beyond a fourth-grade level.

Of course the elite are quite pleased with this, because a stupid public is a public that is easier to dominate. When a large segment of the population can barely read and is accustomed to letting others do their thinking for them, it becomes easier to lie.

For example, on Thursday Paul Krugman of the New York Times made the following statement…

Growing dependence on government is mostly a myth.

Of course most of you that are reading this know that is a flat-out lie. The charts in this article clearly show that the number of Americans on food stamps is at an all-time high and the percentage of the population that is on food stamps is at an all-time high.

Back in 1983, less than a third of all Americans lived in a household that got money from the federal government each month, Now, an all-time high 49 percent of all Americans live in a home where at least one person receives money from the government each month.

For many more stats and charts that demonstrate the stunning growth of government dependence, please see this article and this article.

Sadly, the truth doesn’t seem to matter too much to the media these days. The mainstream media tends to be incredibly arrogant, and most of the time they don’t even pretend to be “objective” or “neutral” anymore.

Fortunately, more Americans than ever are becoming dissatisfied with the mainstream media and are starting to seek out alternative sources of information. According to a recent Gallup poll, the level of trust that the American public has in the mainstream media is now at an all-time low.

So perhaps there is hope after all.

    What do you think?

I’m an emotionally charged individual in all aspects of my life; passionate whatever I’m discussing or doing. However my objectivity is rarely affected by it.

Tell me more about your credentials in subliminal messages which make your views superior to that of a doctor or scientist? Have you carried out independent studies proving subliminal have a minimal amount of influence on the viewer? This is your chance to provide some substance behind what you say as I'm genuinely interested.

This is what you and modus have been doing in this thread continuously. Again you’re placing words/arguments into people’s mouth. No has said ‘’tv will Suddenly turn you into a zombie’’. I have said it has zombifying effects, meaning it will numb a person and place them into an altered alpha state where the person becomes more docile. Obviously if you balance things off and only watch a little tv it’s not going to have such an effect. But if you spend hours every day having the tv as your life force for your information, then it’s going to have a tremendous effect on the person’s subconscious

You didn't get your point across. All you did was a merely make a cheap attempt to discredit the whole debate though a logical fallacy by appealing to ignorance rather than genuinely offer a valid point to counter my own.
It only says that I’m not willing to entertain bullshit in any shape or form when discussing things.

I mean earlier in the thread we had modus, stereotyping that anyone who is rebellious against tv/corporate America, is most likely rasta, middle class, or just some yuppie. If you make stupid generalizations, and arrogantly brush off a legitimate point and paint it merely as a tin foil hat conspiracy theory, don’t be surprised when people get angry

I've got my references too, so don’t worry, you’re experience is only one side. I agree to an extent the person has to somewhat accept the suggestions on some level in order for them to have influence. A person predisposed to be violent will be more open to violent suggestions, then someone who is of a gentle nature. However sublimals are a powerful tool when done correctly by corporations who know what they’re doing. There are studies showing is massive influence. I’d like to see some of your references which show that it rarely has any effect.

I don’t succumb to it because I rarely watch tv. And certain people have a higher level of intelligence and able to decipher when others are leading, or using techniques to garner influence over another.

Considering you work with subliminals, I’m surprised you don’t know that not everyone is receptive to subliminal or hypnotic suggestions. Or are you now just playing dumb in order for it to suit your position in making this point?

Would you also agree, that any changes porn has made to you both postive and negative is down to you? I mean ed is there because you pushed yourself in that direction? Nothing to do with porn causing an adverse chemical desensitization in your brain? It's because you willed it to happen?

No one has a gun to their heads lol. Tv like porn, can be addictive. That’s why I made the point earlier that some people become so dependant on tv, that they can’t sleep without one on.
It’s like the internet and smart phones – a recent study showed there are withdrawal symptoms similar to ecstasy for those who spend large amounts of time on them.

I’m sure it does, however, it’s not a problem if it’s a positive influence. If what was shown on tv had a positive influence I wouldn’t have as much a problem with its hypnotic effects though I would still argue whether it was right ethically. However when it’s laced with agenda’s to debase and indoctrinate then I can no longer entertain any justifications for its place.

LOL You can’t help putting words in my mouth can you? If I said people not to use internet and cellphones, then I’d be a hypocrite. As I use both devices quite a lot. What I actually said, if you bothered to read properly instead of making assumptions concocted up in your own mind – is that social media such as facebook, twitter, trashy tabloids and television are poison to the mind. Nowhere did I say stay away from cellphones and the internet. I totally endorse the internet, it has revolutionised the way we communicate and gain information to the point governments now fear it and want control over it.

If you had statistics showing it then I wouldn't call you up on it. If you were pulling arguments from out of your arse to exaggerate then I would call you up.

You do know porn doesn't just cause ed right? It can cause mental problems such as concentration, memory problems, brain fog, social anxiety and depression. The studies are not done yet to find correlation, but reading from many accounts on here and other places where people have those symptoms in common, anecdotally you can safely say there is a correlation between porn and those effects in the individual.

I'd recommend the documentary 'Century of the Self', by Adam Curtis. It centers around Bernays and the formation of PR and the shaping of public opinion.

The TV has made me introverted.

As soon as my dad comes home, all I have to put up with on TV is stupid stupid stupid Pakistani politics and all this nonsense that we don't have control over. And if it isn't that it is some overly theoretical science documentary (I love science but when it's way too conceptual, I don't understand it).

And we always miss shows like Top Gear, Engineering Connections and Mythbusters.

Hence, I go into my room and play guitar.

I like the TV but there is no reason to turn it on unless there is a good show or movie.

Who the Hell do you think you are? Putting words in mouths?

I said the idea was being SUGGESTED. Talk about subliminal messages, look at this entire thread and your entire side of the argument, pictures posted included.....

Once again you ignored my reference to that kid Laurynas posted. Look at him.

He doesn't look human, no eyes, drooling, brainless.

I shouldn't have to say anything beyond pointing at that, you keep telling me I am using fallacies, no I am not. I am simply doing 1 thing and one thing only:

Pointing out the obvious posted here by you guys.

Never, not once did I EVER say: "Metal you said "

    Laurynas said " "

Whilst using words you did not already post/I made up out of thin air.

Find a quote where I actually did, otherwise, shut it with the accusations. What I was saying in my previous posts that the ideas being suggested were exaggerated, and that I could find quotes showing that you guys were going over the top. Oh wait a second, LOOK AT THE TITLE OF THE THREAD.

Let me refresh your memory: WAKE UP-TV AND MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS USED TO ***CONTROL*** YOU

Look up the word "control" in the dictionary, and then post it here.

Then look at my post about "influence" post that definition here.

I will agree, some people just aren't open to subliminal messages, or anything new for that matter. But my point hit its mark in those with reason enough to listen. Even those who can be affected by subliminal messages, hypnosis etc. can choose whether or not to "succumb" (for lack of a better word) to the message/hypnosis. You can force someone to watch that idiot 2 Chains a thousand times, and if that person says "No, I don't think he's cool, sorry" then that was a choice. You can also show someone the same ad a thousand times, it won't help you. Once someone's mind is set on a certain set of beliefs and values, that is it.

You can appeal to certain demographics, but even then, even those who don't understand the subject fully all realize every ad, every piece of media aimed at selling, aimed at customers is simply that, aimed. Directed. I am willing to bet every human being in 1st world countries above the age of 12 realize that ads and shit like that, are meant to sell, it isn't like they aren't aware, no one is drugging them into a consumer stupor.

You think just because some corporate advertisers place Eva Mendes on a poster portraying her as beautiful that every girl will want to be like her? Some will, others won't, it comes down to personal beliefs and values we have been taught by our parents, and our own experiences.

I have been learning how to make subliminal messages and how to advertise for 3 years now; It's what I study. It is my career path.

The tin foil hat reference obviously hit a nerve, but it still proves a point, this thread overexaggerates, A LOT. You also conveniently left out my post about how I admitted that due to my obvious under-use of tv and media that I have the biased position of one who can look from the outside in on people who do overuse. You also made the convenient choice to not acknowledge I used the word "acting."

I did not say anyone said anything, I said it was being portrayed, suggested in tone. It's like I need to keep stressing this point. Metal, if you're going to put words in my mouth find the exact quote where I accuse you guys of saying anything outrageous, other than my obvious statement that quotes I could gather are exaggerating and suggestive. I said it was being SUGGESTED, not literally, overtly stated.

You said to me above overuse of tv and media can "affect" you (influence you). I made it clear that was indeed true. But the words, and I have said i could quote before:

"Zombie" (idc if you say zombifying, to zombify, means to be made into a zombie)

are all suggesting something: lack of choice.

Still don't get my point about choice?Look at Heroin for example.

People still find a way to beat it and *not* choose it. How is it your point about the addictive effects of tv or media can hold a candle to the true meaning of the word "control?"

By the way: There have been no definitive brain studies on porn addiction or porn-induced ED, even Gary does not know how it occurs. So yes, technically claiming brain fog or anything else happened because of porn use is pulling shit out of your ass. Not to say it cannot cause brain fog, but what I am saying is what neurologist has 100% proved it? I believe it, but my point stands, just because there's no real solid study done on it doesn't mean it does not exist. The same goes for my perspective on subliminal messages. I really do not have the time nor the patience to look for studies, but I will say once again you need to accept it, make a choice about something, before it affects you.

As for the ED I cured? Yes, it mostly was due to me choosing to watch porn even though I knew it was addicting and it made me feel terrible.

Think about it Metal, nowhere in our habits did we say "I am craving it? This is an addiction... fuuuuck."

Yeah, we all did dude, everyone knew before they came here or to YBOP they were addicted. They wouldn't have looked otherwise.

As for my tangent on cellphones and the internet? You said you suggest use of the internet yet in that same post you state how withdrawal symptoms are like those of ecstacy. You say to use it, but it is addictive by nature, it simply is a "drug" in its own way. So are cellphones. Much in the same way tv and mass media are. I agree, the free exchange of information is quite nice, but it isn't the healthiest thing to use, and neither is a cellphone. I was making a simple point that in a modern world, we need to use its modern tools, period.

I know, you're just trying to inform those poor, helpless people that don't understand the effects of tv and media, but as I have said, I am sure people know it is addictive and that media is meant to influence you. They aren't ignorant to it, those being affected in such negative ways simply choose to not care.

If one can choose to beat the most powerful drug on the planet by cutting it off, one can simply say that enough is enough with a tv or media itself, they can shut it out, it is not hard to do. The effects are being exaggerated in this thread.

I think the power of anything, subliminal or overt, is inert without action and choice.

I think it is left to choice.

You seem to be of the opinion that the addictive effects overpower or very strongly minimize the power of choice.

Let's agree to disagree, I am tired of arguing over a topic that overall isn't as important to me as beating my unnatural desire to jerk off.

Oh and as for that yuppie, hippie girl Laurynas posted, (yes she is both of those things, just without the clothing style) she contradicts herself the entire time.

Apart of nature? First off, Metal was definitely right defending factual studies and the advance of science, that takes a certain order, a hierarchy, an objective view and separation between man and nature. We should protect the environment, but we are not on the same level as animals.

She says we should all be individual and that the "system" makes us all uniform. If you seek to achieve oneness, individuality by its very nature defeats this.(Let it be noted I fully support individuality, my problems, beliefs, personality and choices are my own, look after yourself). People have differences, when one is different and there are opposing factors in said difference, conflict occurs. The best you get out of that is apathy towards one another, and apathy is death, worse than death, because at least a rotting corpse contributes to the soil.

Wanting to be individualistic in oneself, yet collectivist in nature, collectivist in your view of everything else, is contradicting yourself.

Being unique is an individualistic philosophy.

    Being "one" is collectivist.

I stand my ground on this one, I am for justice and that is why I brought this topic up because TV and mainstream media have their own thoughts what justice is with the help of the gov.

And yet many people think that the only way to know the real news is to watch tv and follow mainstream media. "If it wasn't on the teli - it's not real!!! If that actually would happen - I would have seen it on the TV or the newspaper. 9/11 was an attack by muslims, fucking terrorists".

Did TV and mainstream media tell you the following:
1 ) Fluoride that is put in water is actually poisoning the human.
2 ) 9/11 was an inside job made by US.
3 ) The war is all about profiting and getting the oil or whatever other resources by conquering those lands and taking control of the resources.
4 ) Drones keep on killing innocent children and people. Somewhat 90% of the people killed during war were innocent.
5 ) Police get away with so much shit they've done.
6 ) That there's a way to create free energy.
7 ) Many of the big corporations are supporting GMO to make even more profit of it.
    8 ) HAARP and it's abilities.
    9 ) Spying drones.
    10) Women in the military have a bigger chance of getting raped by fellow soldiers than being shot. There are numerous incidents that were kept quiet.

The list goes on and on..

If you are for TV and mainstream media and you think they cause little or no harm - then you are AGAINST JUSTICE and FREEDOM.

There's so much freaking injustice in the world you can't even imagine.

All I want is people to become free and to be able to think on their own..
All I want is people to become happy with themselves..
All I want is people to realize that the elite doesn't want people who can't think on their own, that's why they use various tools such as TV, mainstream media, video games and other things to keep us entertained and to distract us from what's really going on..

Oscar Wilde said that if you want to tell something like I am telling now - tell in a way that would make them laugh or else they'll kill you/will go against you..

But I decided to use the direct approach to keep it straight..

    It's time to WAKE UP!

    1) I edited it now, satisfied, mr. in order? There was nothing in that message that couldn't be said in a topic.

    2) What's the question here?

    3) There are various source with lots of researching.

I said the message that was worth knowing.

If at least 1 person out of hundreds who read this topic will actually realize what damage is being caused to him and will change his life somehow in a better way - I will be satisfied.

I'll leave this place in a matter of days, whether it's with a ban or on my own, because I've said what I wanted to say.

In that list of tools (posted above) to entertain I'd surely add porn as a rather successful one as well.

People are not as free as they think they are. I trully hope that they will become trully free and experience true freedom.

Having an opposite/negative reaction towards what I say is normal, since it's not what the masses say. Since this is a porn addict forum..

At first porn was "wtf?" (same with TV actually), but later on, like now, the masses use it and try telling someone who doesn't know about it that porn is bad. You get looked at like you're a donkey.

If you can give a question without any bullshit then I'd be more willing to answer it.

So is it me, or you are seeing my sources as "untrusted", well prove that your sources are "trusted". Now that's when the choosing begins, most tend to choose what the masses choose though, because of inability to think indepedently. I did my own research and found out what works for me. If you do what works for you - keep it up, it's a choice, you made yours, I made mine.
