I'm leaving cold approach and all things girl related for the time being. A few months at least. Exposure therapy has been shown to have the opposite effect in depressed people... not great!

Universal, I do but I'm just not into any of them anymore. Should be temporary...

Anyway I've been put on 50mg of sertraline and still waiting a call back for a therapy consultation. I'd much much rather tackle the depression with psychedelics and entheogens if I'm to use any drugs but professional help is more important at this stage than saying no to shitty drugs from shitty companies.
On the plus side I felt the effects of sertraline in about 40mins. I'm pretty sure it's not placebo, seeing as my friend Tom has experience with meditation, headspace altering drugs etc and knows the difference reasonably well. Feel like a zombie as well.

I feel with you. Not enjoying your hobbies anymore sucks so much. I really have to put an effort into doing things these days. And even then I rarely enjoy them. My depression still occasionally allows me to enjoy things, but it's rare. I can't help but think that my libido is hurt by my depression, partly, and that it's not (only) the other way around. That said, I'm still certain that PMO has had its part in fucking me up.

I'm considering trying St. John's Wort (anti-depressant that some claim has positive effects on libido (although others claim the opposite)). Have you tried that?

The best of luck to you!

Fair enough, I support that choice. Some people are always surprised to find out people in the age group (16-25) aren't always seeking relationships

I'm interested in these therapeutic entheogens. I think it's clear those with pre-existing or dormant mental issues can be seriously amplified with psychedelics but I'm wondering if someone with a chemical imbalance due to sexual addiction could have mental side effects from use, are you aware of any complications? Ive heard alex shulgin say phenylethylamines tend to be most suitable for recovering from traumatic events/cirumstances, dealing with relationships and removal of emotional blockages in comparison to tryptamines that can be perfect for depression and addiction. Obviously that's very broad and not to say they can't be effective with any intent, excludes less typical drugs like iboga but out of curiosity if you did which route would you take?

Goodluck with sertaline. Little confused, did sertaline zombify you or were you saying that as it's a pre-existing state?

I don't know of a phenethylamine/tryptamine distinction like that but I wouldn't be surprised and also often the two overlap much more than you would expect. I'm not sure what specific drug I would use but my dog has had some spiritual (not religious) help from LSD.

That's the thing, I'm not sure if it's the sertraline or the after effects of the episode that have left me with a giant block in my head. Definitely now as opposed to a month ago though, which was when this episode started.

I might have nearly shat myself asking a friend if she would help me rewire. I'll phone in the verdict...

    Sorry to hear man.

    Plan B?

I've always pondered how much different this would be if the ratio of male:female rebooters was 1:1

So is sertraline supposed to kick in that immediately or is it one of those meds where it takes a few weeks for its work to begin to show itself? A few years ago, when I was on Zoloft, it took several weeks for me to begin feeling it.

I hope you begin feeling better soon, man.

Plan B is wait a few weeks for the meds to kick in and restart my approach anxiety program.
Interesting scenario. I think as the problem gets more widespread it would become much easier to recover.

Sertraline is generic Zoloft! So I guess you know all about it.

Had a lot of libido for a few days, then I didn't. So er, nothing new tbh...

    Restarting my approaching program.

I'm one of those people who just kept at it and my streaks just kept on getting longer.

A lot of people have some kind of spiritual revelation about their lives or porn that helps them quit. Others just fight through it and eventually get somewhere.

Had a lucid dream last night which ended in me getting a blowjob. Very realistic except for the moment my dick grew about 3m.. but I don't think it was a porn thing. Woke up with a solid but no lasting libido. When I'm in bed I have a lot of libido (even without fantasizing which I avoid nowadays) but when I get up it fades slowly to nothing. I might try lucid dreaming for rewiring situations (just kissing and the like) for kicks and see how it helps my libido.

This is pretty fucking interesting and I'm curious to see whether or not that would work, especially since lucid dreaming is (generally) so fucking hard to voluntarily induce (for most people). The reason I think it might work in theory is because, when asleep, the brain can't distinguish between the real world and the dream world, so dream sex might be treated the same way as real sex. Pretty interesting in my opinion.

I think it would be easier to rewire with a real girl then with a dream induced girl.

Issue with lucid dreaming is you are literally in that state for seconds/minutes but it feels like a long time. With real rewiring you can do it for hours.

Also we don't really know if the dream pathways when we think of sex are using porn pathways instead of the healthy sex/arousal ones.

Good luck with it though, Would be an interesting experience. I have found most of my sex dreams I realize i am dreaming at some point and enter a slight level of lucidity but not enough to control variables such as the girl, the place and what happens etc If you can do that then maybe it will work really well.

Yeah I've thought about that as well, it also does nothing for anxiety. But it's better than nothing and I woke up with a rock solid boner, didn't O though. I would think that if the sex is realistic and just normal in the dream it should use genetically formed sex pathways, similar to real life. I think the vividity and clarity of the dream depends more on the fundamental factors like how close you are to being awake than any lucid properties. Normal dreams are also both vague and clear. Still it's just a crutch until I can get proper rewiring done.

About to go see a counsellor. Not sure what counselling can really do for me at this stage but hey, it's free...

OK turns out the kind of counselling (long term - months, years + sex therapy) he thinks will help isn't free. Obviously sex therapy wouldn't fix this anyway but it might help if there was a sex therapist who accepted PIED exists.

I am in a similar situation as you. Reboot is getting long and I feel like I am getting nowhere with girls. Having some mood swings as well. I don't know what to say but keep going maybe?

It's the only option we have.

I've decided to stop taking sertraline. Sexual sides are just unacceptable in a PMO reboot. As if it needed to get any more complicated. I'm going to give it 2 weeks and then start taking 5-HTP. Just a single 100mg dose of 5-HTP works magic for 5-6 hours.

Have you considered St Johns wort? From a quick skim read it looks like it can induce some ED but far less than typical SSRIs

I have but decided not to bother. I'm using 5-HTP instead, 100mg every 1-2 days.

I also read into using ketamine microdoses (10mg) as needed (weeks apart) and definitely decided not to do that even though it's very effective (better than any monoamine reuptake inhibitor) and has no side effects at such a ridiculously low dose. So that's that...

Libido insanely spikes quite often now (in an animalistic kind of way, not "I need to fap") and it's getting more consistent at baseline so that's something! Ketamine could speed that along by increasing neurogenesis, if I was taking it of course.

Yea, it can be very addictive if you misuse it mate have to be vigilant with that stuff if you got an addictive personality.
