I used to be pretty hard porn addict so it seems, I couldnt go more than two weeks without porn (usually less). After almost a year of constant relapsing and saying to myself "never again" each time I relapse, I finally took real action to prevent that constant circle of relapses. I knew that as long as I have internet I will relapse no matter how hard I try. So I pulld out my internet connection. For 3 months.

It's funny how our brain works. When internet was there, the brain knew he could get porn any time he wanted thus the urges were there. But, when the internet was gone.... NOTHING. No uges. Brain now knows that porn is gone and even if it craved for porn it wouldn't get it, because it can't, now that there is no internet. First few days might be hard but after that it gets soo mucs better and easier. Urges go away and ed gets better as the time progresses.

Quitting internet not only helps you with the reboot, but if you have facebook addiction or something similar it goes away as well. Not to mention your general mood improves a lot. And you are forced to go out there and meet people and do things in real life instead of sitting in front of your screen and jerking off or clicking the refresh button on facebook.

So, if you are a hard addict and can't go more than a few days without porn no matter how hard you try, quit internet for a few months untill it gets better. And, of course, delete/burn any offline porn you might have. And if you really need internet to check mail or do some important stuff, you can always have a friend with internet so use his, you ceretanlly wont PMO in front of him.

I am going to quit internet and limit tv because it is too hard to be online all day and not type in something related to porn. I think this might help with the brain going back to normal faster like you said because it knows there will be absolutely no porn.

I completely agree with what you have said. I spent 10 months of making it only about 1-2 weeks at a time.

Once I completely got rid of internet access on my phone, and once I got accountability software on my laptop.. I've had very few urges as compared to in the past.

Now that I'm past day 30, things are much easier

Some people need the internet for work and study so its not practical to just do away with it just like that.

Besides, you ain't cured just because you threw away your computer, ou just removed the source. Once you get back to having access in some way, if you haven't done any work on yourself to understand why you went to porn/became an addict in the first place, you will be back on the porn the same way a dog is back licking shit after being untied from it's leash.

Totally agree- cutting right back on internet use is vital - something I started to do was just leaving my laptop at work, and not indulge in the endless web surfing - it would inevitably get me into trouble. I find without internet at home I am less irritable and have more time for reading, watching a good film, just tidying my place up... and being more 'present'.... helped my reboot too

I think if you can't get rid of the internet another great idea is to remind yourself of the benefits of no PMO. More energy. Greater mental clarity. This is mostly a mental thing guys. Its all up in our heads. To resist, you must forget. To forget you must devalue. To devalue you must up the value of something else. To up the value of something else you must first experience it. Try to get a girlfriend. Someone that can help you.

Nice story and Congratz on quitting porn.

However this may not be the solution for some, as they depend working with internet.

Nevertheless, I applause you for your determination.

    Cheers

thats similiar to my reboot. i've been spending my days away from the computer and outside of my house. I Work 7-10 hours a day, then exercise or go to dance class where I get to dance, touch (nothing sexual) and interact with women. So I only check this forum, facebook and email. all under 1 hour time. That keeps me away from even contemplating to watch porn, browse pictures or touching myself. STAY BUSY, GET SHIT DONE, SPEND AS LITTLE TIME AS POSSIBLE AT HOME OR BY YOURSELF, and after a while real life will get more interesting then sitting at home playing with yourself. cant believe i did it for years instead of living life.

Right there with ya ireboot. Your strategy is very effective and I have been doing the same. The focus is definitely on getting out of the house and staying busy. I like your choice of dance class because as you said there is rewiring going on as well as picking up the skill of dancing, and women love a guy who can dance. Nice!
