    Hi all,

    25 year old male here.
Been trying to quit PMO for 2 and a half years now with little success.
I’m at the point where I can only get a semi with porn and lose it without stimulation.
I relapsed pretty hard yesterday x3 times as I hadn’t seen an erection in 2 weeks and couldn’t force one either!
I’m wondering if it’s possible I’ve caused permanent damage to my dopamine reward system?
I’ve had to use Cialis for sex in the last few months, have no morning or night erections, very numb penis and no libido whatsoever, I can get even a semi erection without porn.
Pretty worried I’m worn out my reward system and caused permanent damage from my excessive porn use.

Most likely not. In my experience trying to force an erection you are usually anxious going into it and not relaxed enough so you will usually fail and end up getting more stressed. It's a horrible cycle that you need to break out of.

You should see numbness and ed reduce if you stop P completely and MO for a minimum of 30 days perhaps longer. Maybe after 30 days M with a light touch and lube to test if you are in a right state to do so at that point. To see that you have improved and this may help with the anxiety.

Right now you need to rest your sexual system to prevent the problem worsening and find ways to reduce your anxiety.

    Hi Caller,

    Did you experience PIED yourself?

Only mildly, I lost sensitivity and lost erections in certain positions, after 3 weeks abstaining from MO and around 5 weeks no PMO sensitivity came back greatly.

I believe me losing erections in certain positions is to do with me MOing lying down on my bed all the time causing conditioning to this. So am going to start working on M in kneeling and standing positions to see if it helps.

    Hi Caller,

    Thanks for the reply!
Yeah I definitely noticed mine became position dependant where I lost them straight away when standing or changing position!

I’m going hard mode to see if I can reverse any of the damage I’ve done!

I think an important point is that you can't "force an erection". It's a natural response that you really have no control over.
Keeping in mind that it's not within your control may reduce anxiety.

    Hi shattered,

What I mean by force is that I could get them to thought or by touch, which no longer happens at all. In fact, I can’t really remember the last time it did!
