Rebooters Interested in Meeting

I'm based in the midlands but am in London about once a month for social / working commitments and think a meet-up would be really beneficial. I agree with the SA comments, they can be too brutal and extreme and not in line with our issues.

Also if you're worried about meeting some weirdo why don't we set up a group for London? That way 3 or 4 of us can meet which would negate any awkwardness / worry (and lessen your chances of death should one of actually be an axe murderer ). There's a few English people on here so I think some others would be interested if we leave it open for a bit??

I'm in the midlands but moving back to Kent [just outside zone 6] in June. Will be away all of July but would be up for a mid-week meet in mid June or when I'm back in August.


P.S. I have an axe, but I swear it's just for cutting wood...

 

suggestion for the mods:

- Maybe we can make a different thread for people interested in a Skype conversation? I think this would be a great suggestion since not everybody lives in England, Londen, or the USA.
- Maybe we can turn the list of participants (for both the skyp & meeting thread) into a sticky list. This seem more readable.

I know about SA...and the other 3 similar "S" 12-Step groups. It's not my thing. Been there, done that, not interested in it. I'm looking for some support and accountability that isn't a 12 Step thing. That's all I'll say on that. If you like the 12 Step philosophy or are curious about it, go to SA. I see this as a much-needed alternative to that. Same goal as them...just a different philosophy.

 

I'm down to meetup especially now that the weather has gotten better. MalcomW, what would you prefer?

Don't be so quick to judge! I'm not sure about SA, bu I attend SAA meetings and they've helped a lot! I had a lot of the same hangups initially before I decided to try it out, but going every week has tremendously aided recovery from Porn addiction. I'd trust meeting with a group of guys in that environment much more than meeting a stranger online in person.

 

Too right, I wouldn't meet up with anyone on here to be honest.
