    Have you guys ever heard of it? It's extremely race but probably because it's under reported and guys just don't know they have it. Wikipedia definition says Postorgasmic illness syndrome (POIS) is a syndrome in which men have chronic physical and cognitive symptoms immediately following ejaculation in the absence of a local genital reaction.[1] The symptoms last for up to a week.[1] The cause and prevalence are unknown;[2] it is considered a rare disease.[3]. some of the symptoms....

    The distinguishing characteristics of POIS are:

    1. the rapid onset of symptoms after ejaculation;
    2. the absence of any local genital reaction; and
    3. the presence of an overwhelming systemic reaction.[1]
    POIS symptoms, which are called a "POIS attack",[1] can include some combination of the following: cognitive dysfunction, aphasia, severe muscle pain throughout the body, severe fatigue, weakness, and flu-like or allergy-like symptoms,[4] such as sneezing, itchy eyes, and nasal irritation.[5][2][6]Additional symptoms include headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, sensory and motor problems, intense discomfort, irritability, anxiety, gastrointestinaldisturbances, craving for relief, susceptibility to nervous system stresses (e.g. common cold), depressed mood, and difficulty communicating, remembering words, reading and retaining information, concentrating, and socializing.[5][7]Affected individuals may also experience intense warmth or cold.[4]

    The symptoms begin shortly after or within a half hour of ejaculation.[5]

    The symptoms can last for several days, sometimes up to a week.[4]

    it's possible I have this. This has been something I've wondered about for at least a year. I always thought it was from "PMO" but times when I've jacked off without porn or had sex it seems to happen. Headaches, dizzy, off balance feeling, irritable. Then again I don't want to suggest it to a doctor. But I've done all kinds of tests and Cat scans etc. So I'm otherwise healthy.

    It's normal to feel tired after orgasm, there are complex biological reasons for it.
    Also orgasm triggers hormone change especially when circumstances change.

    I'd imagine that POIS is way way more extreme then you can imagine, and no you don't have it.

    I was just going to create a thread for this now, and then discovered that there already is one.

    Prior to the weekend, I was 2 years 7 months hard mode. I am still free from porn but I decided as an experiment that I was going to masturbate without fantasy or real or imagined imagery, focusing on intimacy. I came round to thinking that all the pent up sexual energy was creating persistent problems with anxiety, as I am a young man who should be, evolutionary speaking in his sexual prime. I ejaculated once and felt the sense of depletion that you would expect. I then masturbated the next day, intentionally trying to avoid the orgasm but then ejaculated by accident. Since then, I have been feeling very unwell-mainly insomnia. The insomnia is pretty normal for me from time to time but it doesn't usually go on for nearly a week without no apparent reason. Other symptoms include mild joint pain, mild nasal and throat irritation and fatigue. It doesn't feel like a conventional virus- I have been ill twice this winter, only just recently recovering from a bug so it doubt that I am ill again. I wonder whether this is the POIS that people have described. The symptoms I am going through are definitely not your normal crash following an orgasm. Prior to becoming sober from my addiction to porn, I never experienced such symptoms, so is this a sign of withdrawal and that the brain is still recovering after all this time? I can't find much information from guys who have been in a similar situation to us online only by people who claim to always have had POIS. I would be grateful if anyone feels that they can shine a light on this.
