I am still sober. I made the mistake yesterday of watching a comedy film with triggering material that I knew was in there before hand. I looked away from the scenes so no harm was done. Nevertheless it is never a good idea to push the envelope like that.
Checking in. Flatline, depression, severe anxiety setting in. Some days are really difficult to get through. Couple of close calls but hanging in there. Any suggestions on dealing with anxiety(the kind where you can’t do anything more than 3 secs and your heart is bursting thru ur chest)?
I am still going strong and have reached 23 months clean today. I found it difficult to keep my eyes off women yesterday and my tiredness from having worked 6 days in a row was an obvious trigger. I am readdressing the balance today by enjoying my time off and am consequently feeling safe. Thanks all for the accountability As someone who lives though persistent anxiety constantly, I don't believe that there is an easy fix. However, there are a number of strategies that I have found helpful like meditation and mindfulness, exercise etc. Anxiety is a big topic and can be influenced by many factors including exercise, diet and physical health.
