@soberjames Stay true to your name and the type of relapse you've had today should be avoidable way easier ;)

    Day 2 almost complete.

It wasn't the best day as I got the news that I wasn't hired for the job I was applying for. It sucks, my mood dropped a little. Later that day, porn came into my mind for a split-second. I had to smile. Funny, how I had used porn half my life to regulate my emotions and to comfort myself for a brief moment only to crash down even further eventually. Not today old pal. Being abstinent for so long, I didn't struggle at all to not relapse. Like driving off an annoying fly on a hot summer day.

I remember the days though when the next relapse was always right around the corner and when I always gave in to the urges... until I did not anymore. The early phase of recovery is brutal. There is nothing heroic about it or at least nothing glamorous. But there will be a time when it becomes a lot easier. And then there might come a time when the terms difficult or easy in regards to abstinence does not even apply anymore because there is no decision to be made any longer. Using porn is out of the equation. Simple as that. And that you got to this point because you incorporated things and habits into your life, you are benefiting from and ditched stuff and behaviours that were harming you.

One thing I find incredibly important is sleep. Being deprived of sleep makes you sluggish, lowers your willpower and leads you to making dumb decisions. So, no matter if you are on Day 1 or day 100, taking a close look at your sleep hygiene and ways to improve it might be very beneficial for you. I can also strongly recommend using blue light filters on your electronic devices (f.lux for example), especially if you use them in the evening.

    Struggling
    Oh how we struggle
And the more we avoid it
    The greater the struggle becomes

    Until we realize
    That struggle is a blessing
    Progressing
    Changing
    Evolving
    Growing

From a seed to a tree
    From a child to a (wo)man
    From a (wo)man to a spirit
To a god fulfilling his plan

@Pete McVries - What you write makes me realize the "porn is not an option mindset" is not something we get out of simple will power. It's not just a decision from day 1 to day 2 that I'm done. It's not that simple. The "porn is not an option mindset" is something we get to after a lot of hard work and dedication and as a result growing our skills, resilience, experience, understanding.

2 days in boys ! We got this. Let's keep trailing along this June Journey.
