    23. Still clear. No porn, no use of artificial sexual stimulation to hit a dopamine high.

@CJJackson We got this. This will be my last challenge. It's not really a challenge for me. I overcame porn addiction years ago. By that I mean I quit using porn chronically to achieve a dopamine high. It was a daily habit for years. Now, no. Porn addiction sort of sneaks up on a lot of us because at the time we are using it, we do not know we are also altering our brain's reward system to feel like we need it daily. We don't, but by the time we realize we want to quit it, it feels like we do. This challenge, this place, is about retraining the brain. It's like exercise. Some guys do pushups, we don't watch porn. Pushups eventually become easy, not watching porn eventually becomes easy. Don't get me wrong; my brain likes thinking about sex as much as it ever did, it's just that I don't use porn to artificially spike that. Becoming self aware is key. Knowing what we are doing and why we are doing it, it key. Know yourself. Being high is fun until is it is not fun.

    25. Clear.

I'm still in the game, despite encountering a triggering situation while I was abroad earlier on in the week.

@Freedom from Servitude Being alive is about experiencing triggering situations. Our brains are evolved to trigger. With this problem, it has to do with nature giving us a reward for thinking about sex, and there is a whole lot in the world that makes us think about sex. In fact, that is why "sex sell"; advertisers know that a sexual image gets out attention, even if the produce being sold has nothing to do with actual sex.

@CJJackson Quitting porn really should be thought of as a daily exercise. Our brains do not naturally produce the prolonged, extended, and profound dopamine rush that we get with porn consumption. We are smart monkeys and have figured out how to get that dopamine reward in that way, an unnatural way. As will all addictions, we invented it. All addictions are an invented means of causing a neurological reaction that we perceive as.......Gabe Deem says pleasure, but I think the word pleasure, while accurate, is too small. I think the feeling we get from the neurological reaction is....comfort. That momentary high makes all of life's problems disappear for a second. I took a hydrocodone pill once. Prescribed for some dental work I had done. I will never take one again. I remember for about two hours feeling I had no problems in the world. It was a fucking fantastic feeling, and totally false. I had problems. But, I can see why people get hooked on that. The reason people get hooked on porn is, basically, the same. It is a different mechanism, a different delivery system, but the neurological reward is practically the same, leading to a feeling of euphoria or ultimate comfort. You will have to practice not having those feelings, those false feelings of euphoria and comfort, and in that time period, you will feel discomfort. Over on NoFap, and the NoFap academy the phrase they use is "getting comfortable with discomfort." A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, I said "Learn to love Withdrawals." Contrary to some popular misconceptions, porn had no underlying causes. People may have issues, but no one used porn to "treat" those issues or to "self medicate." We use porn for one and only reason: it gives us a dopamine high that we perceive as pleasure and comfort. It is hard to give that up once we become addicted to it, but if you practice giving those things up every day, it gets easy to live without them, at least without them from PMO. Get them other ways, maybe the old fashioned way, via sex. I hope you will do a full 90. By that time porn as a habit will be broken in your life, so much so you will want to do without more than you want to go back. Peace.

Challenge accepted, challenge completed. This is about learning not to constantly eat the candy when living in a candy shop; in other words, living in the tech savy modern world. It is a lesson we will have to be living from here on out, we being humanity. That candy bar looks delicious, it is delicious; I am just not eating it today. That is how porn addiction is overcome. We quit eating the candy bar. Every day. Day after day after day. Until we quit feeling like we have to eat it, and we understand eating it is simply a choice.

Anyone reading this....I understand about the problem....It is a real problem....You CAN overcome this problem. I have absolute confidence you will succeed.

    Checking out of the challenge.

    Will I AM

    Much love.

I wanna +1 William's, esp for anyone who beat themselves up for relapsing this January.

Realize 99% of the world is weak and highly addicted, each to their own candies (to food, facebook, clickbaits, drugs, etc), with no desire to even consider quitting.
You are actually not the weak minority, but rather the strong majority who's slowly breaking out of addictions.

In january I've watched maybe ~6h total of softcore the entire month, and that's compared to 10 years ago where i'd daily binge the creepiest hardcore just to get through the day .. my life drastically improved beyond compare.
So I'm here to pat you guys in the back for constantly improving, life holds many mysteries which only the few will discover.

    Enjoy your weekend gents ;)

Hey Will, before you go, I sincerely wanna thank you for your service you have done for this board. Even though I was helplessly relapsing the past few months, I was never giving up and it was so helpful to read your encouraging posts all the time. I can't speak for anybode else but you helped me tremendously. Right now, I'm on a very good streak, 28 days clean, haven't peeked once, I feel, this is the time I'm gonna make it. I have said my good byes to porn and I don't miss it at all. Guys, keep fighting the good fight, it will be totally worth in the end.

Reboot going well.since one week . Just when I started to kill this porn addiction. That has been there.for three years just beforebef first recover from.porn for about 6 years without nothing... But then as I wasn't educated about the dysfunctional effects of.porn when I got.to anxiety and.depression my brain said go back to porn and I did it.
But now as my second time as rebooting this ... I have more tools to.fight it against and I know porn will be a thing of the past .

    Be alert every day

    Be humble

    And stay frew
