It is an anonymous online questionnaire which is designed to assess the negative effects of porn use. The survey is by Lund University, Sweden.

About to take the survey. Is this the first university study of this kind Gary?

I don't know. There may be others out there in the works. Certainly no published study has asked these types of questions that get at escalation, changes in porn, etc.

I couldn't submit it because I left some questions blank, some of which I'm actually supposed to leave blank. Anyone else with this problem? If so I'll probably contact them about it.

I see, have they got in contact with you to discuss your work while developing the study?

Here's mine starting with the effects section. Feel free to share whatever questions / sections you guys feel comfortable with.

Note! The questions below all apply to the past 12 months UNLESS you have successfully quit watching SEM altogether. If you have successfully quit, please answer the questions below as if you had just quit (For example: if you quit in march 2014, the questions below apply to the time period march 2013 - march 2014.)

In the past 12 months, I have watched SEM for longer periods of time than I intended to.
    7

I have experienced a need for new kinds of SEM (new genres) in order to become aroused or have the desired effect. *
(by "new kinds" we mean materials which are different in terms of content: for example; fetishes, violence or any other differences)
    7

    6

I don't think my use of SEM has affected my preferences with sexual partners. *
    1

I am disturbed by some of the SEM that I find necessary to watch to become aroused. *
    7

As a result of watching SEM I have less sex with partners. *
    7

I have experienced a need for markedly increased amounts of SEM in order to become equally aroused. *
(By "amount" we do NOT mean the amount of time spent watching, but the number of videos or photos that you switch between in a session of watching SEM).
    7

I have experienced a markedly diminished desired effect with continued use of the same amounts of SEM (within the same genre). *
(Again, by "amount" we do not mean the amount of time spent watching, but the number of videos or photos that you switch between in a session of watching SEM).
    6

I find the genre of SEM that first got me off boring, or far less arousing. *
    7

As a result of watching SEM I am less interested in sex with partners. *
    7

For men: I have experienced erectile dysfunction (impotence) in sexual acts with a partner, which I think relates to my use of SEM. *
    7

For men: I have experienced delayed or loss of ejaculation in sexual acts with a partner, which I think relates to my use of SEM. *
    5

For women: I have experienced a marked delay in, marked infrequency of, or abscence of orgasm, which I think relates to my use of SEM. *
    Not a woman

For Women: I have experienced difficulties with vulvovaginal or pelvic pain during vaginal intercourse, fear or anxiety about such kind of pain, and/or marked tensing or tightening of the pelvicfloor muscles - which I think relates to my use of SEM. *
    Not a woman

Wish there was a part of the survey with coping mechanisms. I'd be interested in what other people do. I don't think I would have ever done urge surfing, meditation and other things of that nature if other people hadn't have brought it up first or posted that they saw results from it.

    I have the same problem.
"Have you successfully quit SEM alltogether?"
    No.

"If yes, when did you quit?"
^Telling me that I have to answer that question despite the fact that it doesn't apply and the description makes it clear that it doesn't apply.

    @Lund University Survey,

Could you post the results, or article that you are going to create based off this information?
Add a link to the results to this thread when you're done?
    I'd love to read it.

  18. Thanks again to those who participated in the study so far!

We will post the abstract here (in english), in january, so that you'll get an overview of the results.
