Does anyone know what happened to this website ? I see it is still listed on Support sites on Your Brain on Porn- but does not come up when typed in. It is ( was?) the granddaddy of porn addiction recovery sites, dating back to the early days of adult videos, dvds, etc . W/b a shame to hear of it's demise ?

    Personal opinion:

Lots of porn addiction recovery websites are dying because frankly there's no money in the field and admins kind of lose focus after paying the bills out of pocket for so long without the ability to hire services that keep the site online, such as a virtual assistant or two, or people to help write articles. This site is financially and energetically sustainable only due to the support of NoFap. And NoFap is one of the few sustainable sites although the site itself doesn't make money and operates at a loss currently.

At YBR, the previous admin kind of burned out, as are admins of most recovery sites. That's why it's important to financially support people and organizations doing good work in the field either through their Patreons, buying their products/services, donating if they allow it, etc, since advertisers aren't interested in this field due to adult subject matter.

And of course, following them (on their websites, other outlets if they are a podcaster for example, along with social media), perhaps even reaching out to let them know that you appreciate their work, because most of the times admins get dozens of regular thankless messages with demands for advice instead of people thanking them.

Thank you for bringing this up, though. We hope that Your Brain Rebalanced continues to exist and help people for years to come.

I certainly appreciate your frank thoughts and analysis on the difficulties of maintaining a recovery site...the best to you going forward.

The good news is that you can use archive.org to access most of the previous content from the site! Not ideal, but better than nothing.

Have you found out anymore about no-porn? I'm glad I came across your post since I REALLY miss that site and, very honestly, have not been doing well without it. When I saw it was apparently gone, I sort of went into a panic - followed a bit later by a relapse. It was my place of refuge for close to 15 years and I've been struggling without it. I just signed up here,, hoping it'll help me. I miss being able to access my journal over on that site...put aLOT of hours into it over the years. Take care and, as I always used to close posts with over on no-porn - "stay strong, stay sober".... BTW...were you on there enough to remember a guy that went by "breaking free"....fantastic counselor and a help to so many over there. Wow do I miss that site. I've looked at some others and they're basically fluff compared to the in-depth discussions that took place there.

    Kindest regards,
    SD

I tried this and had no luck whatsoever. Any suggestions on exactly how to search for it there?
