I've been working out for almost 2 years now with modest results. I've lost a good amount of body far and gained some muscle but not as much muscle as I'd like. Since I quit fapping to Porn I've noticed that I've seen better results in the gym and look better than I did before. Maybe it's just in my head but I think I've seen better results since I stopped fapping as much. Over the last 3 months I've done it less than at any point during the last 17 years. So do you think that abstaining can raise testosterone levels? Or is this just coincidence?
Abstaining does not raise testosterone levels. Perhaps you have more energy to work out and lift heavier. You might be eating better without noticing. Lots of small things might have changed after you cut off PMO and improved your results. But abstinence as an anabolic factor is all around absurd for anyone who has any idea how that stuff works.
All I know is that I've seen much better results after abstaining from PMO. Maybe it's the higher energy levels. I don't think I've been eating better, in fact I've probably been eating worse lately but still seeing better results. I was just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience or not. Maybe this is just all in my head.
I've been experiencing the same and after having excluded testosterone levels (they don't change with noPMO), diet (I haven't changed it) and generic energy levels (I feel mostly the same as with PMO), I believe it's due to being more focused, mentally. I'm giving more attention to what I'm actually doing during noPMO and this has a direct influence on how I perform the exercises. Better form = better performance = better results.
Have you ever felt incredibly horny right after lifting weights? I do all the time. Especially big lifts like deadlifts or squats. Not sure if that's because the body releases more testosterone after heavy compound lifts or what.
if you see results who cares what others think? All that matters is that YOU see the results..KEep up the good work
Yeah I'm not a big guy, I'm talk but really skinny 6' 1" 170 lbs I got my bench press up to 175 Deadlift 325 Squat 225 Not incredible numbers but for me it's a big deal.
Testosterone does raise by 150% between days 5 and 7 of abstinence. After that it rapidly returns to baseline (within a day I think). But even then it's not like fluctuations of testosterone within a natural range will do anything to how much muscle you build. Unless you plan on fapping every 7 days you will only ever experience 2 days of elevated testosterone for as long as you plan on abstaining. I think men produce between 50-70mg of testosterone weekly. So if you abstain, between days 5 and 7 you may have about 6-10mg extra above base line. Compare that to the use of steroids ranging between, 300mg(considered a small amount) to 1000+mg being inject per week, not even considering any other compound usage. You can see how insignificant and pointless it is trying to naturally raise testosterone for the purpose of building muscle
Semen contains creatine. Creatine helps with athletic performance, so you'll lift heavy. This is the only explanation I can see.
Yep abstaining can raise testosterone levels but it will eventually level out. The main thing though is that you'll have far more energy being pmo free then you were before which will give you the strength to lift and exercise more. People who are fighters abstain from masturbation a few weeks before there fight it. The non masturbation has an advantage albeit a small one but can sometimes make the difference.
Dude I had been lifting for about 2 yrs prior to starting this reboot too. After getting my streak going (2-3 weeks in) I noticed a serious difference in my entire lifting experience. I don't believe that it has anything to do with testosterone or creatine in your semen (I didn't even know that was a thing? Enough to have effect on your workout at least...There's a reason why people supplement with it.) or anything relating to your hormones. My workouts have been killer because I am just more confident in the gym. I am more confident in myself and more confident around other people. I make friends, enjoy the atmosphere, and overall I feel like I give off positive vibes. It's all a mind game. I stay focused and push myself past what I think I can do, all the while I enjoy my time with my friends and have fun. Also to note is that my diet has remained consistent this entire time. The results I have seen correlate with my new found confidence around other people. Also the brain fog is slowly lifting and I am able to focus better. I'm telling you man, change your behavior, it changes the way you think, and that changes the way you do.
Man, when I don't FAP my workouts go through the roof in 3 ways: 1) Consistency - I never miss a workour 2) Quality - I lift more load, with better quality. My whole body feels connected. 3) Focus - when I am in the gym I am focussed. I feel like the hulk when I'm under the bar. When I FAP my workouts feel like crap. Takes a week spell of NOFAP to get my workouts properly back on track. Really don't think it is a placebo effect either.
In my experience, when I'm "rebooted", I have much more energy during the day, much more discipline and self control. Of course, this improves my gym training a lot. The energy flows through your body and you get stronger, that's very real.
