I tried to do it once a couple of weeks ago, but I had some trouble and could not put up the event. This time I will organize it better. I'm talking about the NO-INTERNET WEEK CHALLENGE.
Are you looking for a way to stay away from porn triggers?
Do you need more concentration in studying/working?
Want more time for socializing and doing sports?
Do you want to speed up your rebooting process?
Subscribe to the no internet week challenge! Staying away not just from porn, but from all unessential internet use is an excellent way to reduce the chances of relapse, to improve your mood and your concentration ability, to motivate you to exercise and be a less lazy person.
So what are you waiting for?

    HERE'S THE RULES:

    - the challenge starts on monday 7 october and ends a week later, on monday 14 october

    - during this period you will have to eliminate ALL recreational use of the internet: no facebook, no youtube, no news websites, no online gaming, ... Yes, even visiting this website is not allowed. I know it's cool to write here and check the new posts and so on, but this the point of this challenge: staying away from the internet, this website included. If you want to watch a movie you will have to do it on your television, not via streaming, and if you want to read the news, you will have to do it with printed newspapers or magazines

    - you are allowed to use the internet ONLY for strictly necessary activities, like if you need it for work or studying, or to check the emails (once a day, not every 5 minutes! ;))

    - non-online recreative use of the computer (like non-online gaming) is allowed, BUT I strongly suggest you to avoid it as much as you can: the more you stay away from your computer, the more the challenge will be easy and the more you will benefit from it

    - you can subscribe from now until the afternoon of 6 october. I will write down the list of partecipants in the evening of that day and then the challenge will start

    Subscribe now! ;)

    Thanks for partecipating, Kal-El :)

By the way, I corrected my post: you can subscribe until the afternoon of october 6, since october 7 is the first day of the challenge. The last day of the challenge is october 13, so you are allowed again to use the internet as much as you want from monday 14.

The best thing would be avoiding every use of the internet that is not strictly necessary, but if you feel like updating your journal on that website gives you a big help with your fitness plan, I guess it could be part of the necessary activities that are allowed. The important thing is avoiding things like reading other guys' posts at random and other compulsive behaviours. If you think you are able to go on that website, write your update (if you really have, not because you are bored and you want to write something to pass the time) and then close your browser without doing anything else, it might be ok.
Another solution might be just writing your updates on a sheet of paper for a week, and then transcribe them on your journal at the end of the week. You're the only one that can decide which solution is the best for yourself.

At the 4th day of the challenge, I'm out. I'm still satisfied. 3 days without internet is a good result, and I plan to spend this week-end without using the internet anyway. Also, I am at day 22 no PMO and I feel very motivated to go on like this.

okay am back now. After a week.

I logged on to YBR in the middle of last week, under a reasonable circumstance.

My old friend, came to my place after a very very long time. We hit it off for a really good time and all of a sudden he pulls his smart phone and goes
    "hey Kal-El, check this out".

    fuckin' A,

It was sweet sweet shemale porn.

I had to help him. I told him the whole YBOP story, told him about our community here and how we help mankind and eradicate evil and let truth and triumph prevail and what not. (took it too far huh?). He was in a state of denial for a while, told me that "we are only a small group of people and porn addiction is not true and cure is sorta placebo shit", I showed him nofap page on reddit and our journal section here on YBR and made it clear that we are an "army of unstoppable warriors" and asked him to stop running his fucking mouth without investigating for himself.

He then sorta hit a point of epiphany and went like "I can see, I can seee". Realizes that he's got it deeper than many of us here.

I told him that he should open a page here and start entering daily updates. He said to me that he has enormous self control and doesn't need a journal. Felt insulted a bit. Told me that he would do a reboot without a journal and a counter and he would be honest about it. We went round and round the city till we hit a wall around 7.30 am. He was rambling about his PMO addiction (newly found) and attributed all of his negatives to it, like I did when I started. I tried to explain which ones are real problems and which ones are placebo craving shit. (I could have just pointed out that he has a problem and that he needs to hit YBOP, doubted he wouldn't do it and he is a bit slow on the uptake with information, so I had to manually get into his fucking brain and try and rewire shit so that he becomes a recovering PMO addict who gets the guilt that he is hurting his brain every time he watches shemale porn or the normal vanilla ones.)

So, that happened. Other than this, I have kept off YBR and the addictive useless sites. Surfed work stuff. Other than that watched tv shows (I could watch them on tv too, but fucking ads give me no choice). TV shows :- 2 in number. Once a week. Am a bit into philosophy (I dig that stuff, but not really addictive again, it is good for my depression(I have depression)). I spent time on it. (Neo-advaita, am thinking of starting a website too). If it is not through internet I would seek time consuming, addictive and dedicated, face to face shit which would take shitload of time out of my schedule.(world renowned spot on earth for neo-advaita followers is two hours away from my place, I don't want my pursuit of truth/enlightenment become another fucking addiction, I don't wanna go there, am good with the internet). Updated my fitness journal once in three days and was not too verbal there.

Overall I spent time on the internet, but was productive and reasonable. The week went by quickly. I have entered everything here. If something above felt like a relapse to you, please let me know.

It seems to me you did good, Kal-El. And good work with telling your buddy about the whole porn addiction and PIED story. I have a few friends that I suspect watch too much porn (they became less sociable, they talk abouthow many good videos that porn website has or how hot that pornstar is) but I really don't know how to talk them about this.

Nope, still have to decide the frequency of this challenge. Last week was the first one; an experiment to see if it could work. I will probably set up another challenge one or two weeks from now.

So, I'm considering the idea of setting up another challenge for next week, because I really need something to give a little boost to my recovery: the slowness of the process is making me so depressed...
Who would be interested to partecipate?
