What are the possible or known long term effect of edging (2~5 hrs of session)?
If there are, what are the ways to heal and how long does it usually take?
Also, does pure abstinence damage prostate and reproductive system as much as over-masturbation and dopamine rush?

Well, what does edging do to you?
The answer is simple - you still focus your mind on something you want to create a distance to. Hence your recovery will be slowed down.
From personal experience, I'd also say that it's damaging for your self-esteem since you're not "going all the way".

Thinking of your second question, what damage should be done by abstinence?
You don't get rusty or such. Think of wet dreams - your body knows ways to make sure everything is going to work when the time comes. ,-)
Looking for reasons not to reboot thoroughly is only delaying one's problems - just saying.

Edging to hardcore porn depletes your neurotransmitters. I mean idk about body functions but a feeling of that intensity for 5 hours can't be good. It downregulates all of your receptors for sure.

I mean in retrospect I can really see how much edging happened. I mean in all reality I remember going from around 10 or 11 at night and edging until 4 or 5 am before orgasming.

That's gotta be terrible for the receptors in your brain.

Great advice by others on the top.

Here is the biggest problem i have with edging.

You sit there for 3-5 hours, when you are done your life is EXACTLY the same as before, You are a bit more depressed and you have a bit more anxiety and you feel WORST than before.

    That's a great question.
When I used to mastubate when I was younger (13 to 18 years old), I would orgasm a few minutes after I started watching porn, and would do it 3 to 4 orgasms in a session.

After I got a little bit older (around 21 years old) I started noticing ED, and it was just by masturbating the way I used to when I was younger.

Then I started edging, and that's when I think things started to go downhill really fast. I used to edge for 4 to 6 hours, and watching porn during all that time, and that is not counting the hours I would spend before of just searching and downloading porn wich would be around 4 hours.

The amount of dopamine while masturbating like a younger me would do compared to when I edged for 5 hours straight is absurd, both of them were very harmfull to my sexual health, but edging would definetly be the worst. Just imagine the effects of such amount of dopamine, hitting your system like a sledgehammer, for 5 hours straight, while watching porn!

When I look back at it, I don't know how I didn't realized back then, how harmfull doing all that shit was, and how it was causing my ED. Thank God I'm in going through a reboot and looking foward to fixing this!

I don;t know it is because of edging, but I didn;t go to college for about half a year , I had a lot of free time and I watched porn (few sessions per day, each session about 2 h-3h) and now Im in condition that I can't feel my orgasms. After few days of abstinence it is better.
Really awful experience I didn;t wish anyone. But it can be also due to my low psychology condition. WHo know what is reason of this...:/

edging or looking at any type of porn material = bad, very bad. not only for sexual health but also for mental health.

abstinence = healing and eventually a renewed interest in real women. no side effects with abstinence, only good positive things come of it.

I'm convinced edging is the most bodily destructive sexual activity.

Keep it up and you may experience a whole lot of symptoms; Chalky/painful urine, hesitation to urinate, inflamed pelvic floor and/or prostate, very painful ejaculations, pain in pelvic floor when sitting etc etc

This is speaking from a personal experience anecdote.. When my edging habits were high these were the symptoms I displayed which resolved within a week or two after stopping edging

With the rise and acceptance of solosexuality, it's not at all uncommon to edge for several hours each masturbation session before attaining orgasm. In fact, it's preferred. The objective is not just more frequent ejaculations but to amplify them, making them stronger and extended.
This not only increases one's pleasure but increases one's overall appreciation and desire for it.
