    Me:
    almost 30
    never had a relationship
    have severe anxiety issues
    a virgin
    overweight
    bad posture
    messed up face

I've tried several times to get rid of my addiction to pmo, never successfully.
'The chaser effect' always gets me. A few days after an attempt to kick the addiction I get unable to focus,
with a very intense craving to masturbate.
How do I beat the chaser effect?

Anyway, thought i'd make another attempt, as my life kinda sucks.

I sympathize that you think you are a loser because this is the kind of thoughts that I occasionally have. I know deep down that I'm so much more than this addiction though. I'm capable of so much.

You have landed at the right place to kick the p and m addiction. Read other people's journal and use the search function, it can help to find a particular topic.

    Peace my friend !

The addiction kills self-esteem.... exercise cuts through the tension and anxiety, the residue of anxiety is burned off...yoga and breathing exercises are good too

You're not a loser, Danric. A loser wouldn't try to improve his life. A loser would just watch porn every day and wouldn't care about the consequences. You are here now, that shows me that you care about yourself. So please don't call yourself a loser (I know: easier said than done).

As a start I'd recommend reading this old thread of The Underdog. Lot's of good stuff in there.

I'm on day ..11? and it's getting increasingly difficult.
When horny, i get a feeling akin to being stressed. I'm unable to relax and it's hard to focus.

Ok, so it's been just about 2 weeks, and i'm having a much easier time now. Is it possible that i've actually managed my way through the chaser effect?

    update;
I only got 1,5 hours of sleep last night. And usually when that happens, i get strong anxiety symptoms. It usually feels like i'm literally are about to have a heart attack. But today, the only symptom of my lack of sleep is that i'm really tired. No need to medicate for the usual symptoms.

    mhodgman50red The time is now.

Hey man, just wanted to reinforce what some of the other guys are saying, those things don’t make you a loser. There honesty are a lot of women who would prefer someone who doesn’t sleep around. Have you considered taking steps to help lose weight? A few years back I lost some and it was amazing how much more women notice you.

I am going to the gym sometimes, mostly to run on the treadmill. I want to get into some sort of shape for my 30th birthday, which is about 2 months from now. When i get a bigger paycheck in july and august, i'll also try to change my diet to help with weightloss.

Why would you need more money to lose weight and eat healthy? That doesn't make any sense at all...
