    Hey there internet addicts,

    I'd thought about going at this once again.

    It's quite insane to cut the internet use off completely so we will do this step by step reducing the use.

    STARTING FROM TOMORROW (MONDAY - the 16th) begins the 1st week.

    1st week rules :

    1) Using the internet up to 1 hour a day (for non-work related stuff, plain surfing);
    2) Using the internet for work doesn't count as the 1 hour/day limit usage;
    3) Music addicts are allowed to play background music the whole time but not while sitting at the computer, only if you turn on a long (an hour or few) playlist and keep it running while the monitor is turned off;
    4) Be honest with yourself and don't look for excuses if you're out of the game.

    If you use out your limit there are no exceptions - you're out.

    P.S. If you haven't used your one hour limit that doesn't mean that for the next day you have 2 hours. If you didn't use it - great, either way it's only up to 1 hour/day.

    So who's willing to do this? - POST.

    I'll do it. Already have a timer set on my google chrome, the only issue is forcing myself to only use it instead of my other browsers, heh
    Definitely want to cut down on internet. Its mostly a waste.

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - STARTS ON MONDAY

    So I guess it's 4 of us.

    Used the internet for about 20 minutes today (non-work related).

    What I've used the internet was facebook (1 minute check, news, friend requests and messages);
    Yourbrainrebalanced;
    Gmail;
    Local transport;
    Soundcloud (turned on few hour long music list and going to do some visualization of my life after 10 years);
    Additional important information.

    1 DAY COMPLETE. Done with internet today.

    Quick post:

    Connected again, but to an education platform for self-development so I won't count that as surfing (1 hour time). Being honest.

    Used the internet for about 20 minutes non-work and education related. Feeling good. Still working on my 2022 year vision of my life. Some nice things are being wrote done.

    Guess this topic is like my own journal for internet?

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - [DAY 2]

    I was thinking of trying this, but I am a student at the moment, living in halls.
    I have no television lol.
    So, when everyone is studying, I have no choice but to wait until people are finished before I can go out or have some fun with them.
    The waiting until they are finished is the issue. I could stream TV online, would that count?
    I have ADD so reading is kind of an issue, though I do everyday for my course so reading at home after 5 hours or so of reading at uni is a pain in the butt. I would like to cut down my internet time, so I may follow some kind of week trial, just to see how addicted I actually am.

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - [DAY 2]

    For what better you could spend your time than watching tv online? What's the point of wasting time staring at some random show that's probably junk anyway?

    Watching TV stream online won't cut down on your time, it will be still the same just you'll be watching crap instead of surfing the internet for more crap, what do you think?

    Do join if you want to, no matter that I'm on day 3 now. You can keep your progress starting from day 1 aswell.
    -------------------------------------------------------------

    Update on my day 3. Today spent about 45 minutes of time on the internet adding some crap to my brain thinking it would help me relax a bit. Didn't work so well.. Although was slightly excited thinking "I'll watch that video and check that forum" (not YBR).

    Still got some education work that needs internet, but it's self-development, not crap, education so I won't count that to my day time.

    So total use of internet for about 50 minutes. Done for today. Going to do some education for a bit and then to bed.

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - [DAY 4]

    Day 4 already. Feeling good about using the internet for an hour instead of 4 hours for nothing. I get so much more done. I feel so much better that I'm spending more time for self-development and education.

    Anyone else willing to join restricting the time on the internet that's stuffing your brain with crap?

    Weekend will be slightly harder, I might take 2 hours at that time, not sure yet, depends on the weather (what an excuse!).

    Used the internet for about 55 minutes. Done surfing today what's left is education and self-development that I don't count as wasted time.

    Ciao.

    Hey Pluto,

    nice to see you're willing to join, be sure to post how you're doing.

    -------------
    Day 6 now, didn't post on day 5 so:

    Spent about 35 minutes on the internet. Feeling good.

    Saturday... No work.. Harder.. I'll have to go somewhere and do something. :) At the moment the weather isn't as good as I would like it to be.. Oh well.

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - [DAY 6]

    I failed at some point, not totally sure when. Its hard for me to accurately keep track since I use my phone in certain moments of waiting for things or taking a dump for example. Also when I combine my work + schoolwork + streaming videos, I get lost over what counts as internet usage. I need to be defined with my internet usage.

    Then define for yourself what you define as internet usage that goes into the limited use of internet.

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - [DAY 6]

    Might. Since you send less crappy information to your brain.

    Less crap = less cleaning up to do.
    Less cleaning up to do = Less time needed to clean your brain from crap
    Less time needed to clean your brain from crap = Less time needed to achieve the state of cleaning up 'PMO addiction' section
    Less time needed to achieve the state of cleaning up 'PMO addiction' section = Less time to wait for reboot cleanup.
    Less time to wait for reboot cleanup = Quicker reboot.
    Quicker reboot = Erections come back sooner.

    Re: 7 DAY INTERNET CHALLENGE - [DAY 7]

    Day 7. Exceeded the 1 hour limit but as I wrote before I raised it to 2 hours of pure surfing. Now it's mostly music and whatsoever. Today I'll be doing a plan what I will do to replace the time that I use to surf the internet and I'll start the second week.

    2nd week will have almost the same rules, anyone willing to join or you prefer to rotten while surfing for hours and hours?
