I want a better life at age 36. It´s NOT too late!

    It was the sleep deprivation that got the better of me. I'm dissapointed at myself but I have to try to look in bigger perspectives. I'm doing better and better and, as a whole, I'm still progressing. Working on my online business and staying free from alcohol, learning and growing.

    The last 12 days showed me something important and interesting though: I'm much better at resisting urges when I have a no sugar/no carb diet. It's not just a minor difference but a big one. I had many urges this last streak that I managed to not respond to and I have also noticed hog much increased my mental clarity and slef control is with other things in life, when Iäm on a no carb diet. Yesterday, however, it wasn't enough beacause lat night internet use in combination with no sleep the night before is still too dangerous, regardless of what I'm doing diet wise.

    Sleep deprivation is one of the biggest challenges for me too. It lowers boundaries and gives you an aweful lot of time to pass. All in all I think you're going strong though. You don't seem to fall back to binging and long absence from journalling, meaning that your moving towards your goals.

    Gilgamesh, thanks, yes I think I'm growing. Now I want to try a better and hopfully much longer streak. I need to figure out a way to limit my internet use late at nights though.

    This is a huge one for me too. Boredom is the devil. I wish all my devices would automatically turn off at 10pm and stay off until 7am. Would do a whole lot for me and my recovery.

    Intothewild89, drifting mindlessly on the internet late at night is dangerous and is what has led me to most relapses of during my rebooting years. I tried to have for example no internet for after 8pm rules and stuff like that but I always end up going back to using the net aventually. Indeed I would like such devices that you mentioned!

    Came very close to relapsing yesterday when working late at night again. I managed to tear me away from the screen but still....I need to figure out a way to make my house internet free late at night

    This is just not working for me. I did not relapse yesterday but, again, I came SO very close to it. I need to cut out internet at nights. Starting today.

    Hope you find that works for you bro. Getting better sleep will help you as well. We're both at 7 days today. First one to relapse buys the other a case of pop. :D

    Ok so I shut down the internet connection in my house, yesterday at 10 pm. Went to bed and tok a book and started to read. Man, It must have been many years since I last read a book....I have always just been reading from a screen the last 4-5 years. After that I fell asleep and slept for a long time.

    Intothewild89, haha, first I thought you should say: "first one to relapse buys the other a case of porn" ;)


    Today I'm grateful for:
    -Coffee in moderation
    -My warm and cosy house
    -My sister and my brother
