I saw a urologist today

I saw a urologist today. Interestingly, he said that he is very interested in all of this new thinking about how excessive porn use can cause ED. He actually encouraged me to try to not use porn for two months...though when I asked him about masturbating, he insisted that I continue to masturbate as frequently as I want, and at least 3 times a week. Though he also recommended using a lubricant because doing it too much without one can actually damage nerves. They tested my penile nerves and they're all fine, but he recommended using a lubricant going forward.

I thought it was very interesting that "your brain on porn" is actually gaining some currency among established urologists.

Yeah I have to believe that in 5-10 years this phenomena will be well accepted...the proliferation of porn is just going to make this more and more prevalent, and the medical community will have to catch on!

    ...it's about f**ing time....

I'm going cold turkey with no-MO. I'll allow any appealing gentlelady to indulge with my love-tool when times will come but, besides that, cold turkey.

I'm pretty sure that what your urologist intended was to release extra and old semen out of your testicles so to leave room for younger and better semen and keep the production cycle well trained.

Somewhere in the forum (or maybe ybop) I read that it's better to masturbate anytime after the second morning boner you experience. It is true: while asleep, all the vegetative activities involve also downstairs, where the environment is finally relaxed and they don't have to recover from any recent monkey-spanking.

It's awesome that your doctor is aware of the damage porn can do. However, I have a problem with him saying you should MO at least 3 times a week. Did he at least gave you a reason why? If he did, I hope it wasn't "to avoid prostate cancer." ::)

I think it's commonly accepted among urologists that ejaculation should occur at a minimum 3 time a week. the doctor said it's good for your sperm and it's also good for your erections/penile health. I specifically asked him whether I should give up masturbation for some time and he said no. feel free to continue without MO if you want, but that's just what he said. this guy is an expert in sexual dysfunction, by the way.

The last time I tried no-PMO I had sex with my wife after 7 days. I ejaculated such volume that I had a painful ejaculation including blood, etc. I talked to my Urologist and he said that it was caused by going too long between ejaculations. He also suggested orgasming 2-3 times a week to get so much from being built up.

Now that I'm back on the no-PMO waggon I'll only orgasm with my wife. We usually go 2-3x a week (which requires viagra) except during her "week off".

Now I've to ask: how old are the people who posted in this thread?

I think I read in "The Multiorgasmic Man" (vilified in this forum by some) that the usual frequency should be one every 4-5 days if masturbation, no limit if in an intercourse.

Mmm,I must admit that this book is not a very reliable resource

There are many guys here who have gone weeks and even months without an orgasm, but I've never seen any of them reporting pain or blood when they finally ejaculated. However, I love how your urologist automatically concluded that it happened due to going 'too long' between ejaculation, as if that's something that happens to every guy who goes a measly week without ejaculating.

yeah, id have to agree here. i went 65 days without mo'ing, and now that my libido is returning, ive started to mo. the first time was three days ago, and i experienced no pain whatsoever.

I agree with Shaman. I think urologists work fine for old men who have ED, but when a young man comes in with ED, they treat him like he's another one of his old patients. I've been to two urologists over the past two years and neither were much help. They gave me a physical exam, Cialis, then a testosterone shot. None of them worked. Then they both told me that nothing was wrong with me and sent me on my way. They weren't very inclined to explore other possible causes of my problem. It's like they just followed the book and that was it.

I'm 41 if that helps any. Honestly, we just talked through the circumstances and that was his conclusion. I bled again the next time we had sex and then the problem resolved on its own.

Either way, I told my wife that more sex was better - Doctors orders!

well, I'm 22 if that gives any perspective.

I guess a lot of doctors probably do just follow the book...ultimately I worry that if you're under 40, don't have a hormone/blood pressure/nerve-ending problem, there's not that much they can do for you

anyway, I'll quit porn but masturbate a few times a week just cause my doctor told me to. hopefully a reboot will still be possible if that's what the problem was...

I think the urologist's problem is he just doesn't know much about PIED yet...once this phenomena gets accepted I think urologists will probably be a great resource for those suffering with it!

If that urologist doesn't know about it then patient must consult it with some other urologists. There are many best urologists in delhi ncr near us , if one doesn't able to offer problem's solution then consulting it with other is crucial.
