I just quit Runescape today.

    Ok those games do something. They waste your time.

    By smarter I don't mean they had more knowledge. Or they had the technology that we have now. Certainly I don't see anyone becoming Tesla or Einstein playing games. For me smartness isn't copying smart things that already exists. Smartness is innovation. I think Steve Jobs was smart.

    I think some games are harmless a 30 hour playthrough over a couple of weeks of a game with a good story... I doubt its any more harmful than other forms of entertainment such as watching Breaking bad or something.

    MMORPG's are bad news though. They have no end, there is always something more to aim/grind for. And to be honest you can play four 10 hours straight and realise you are not even having any fun. If, like everyone on this forum you have a susceptibility to addiction, they should be avoided.

    That game was no longer worth playing after EOC. RS3 was a huge fail.
