Damn man, I have often felt the same way when walking down the street. Almost dreamlike sometimes. I'm not definitely not completely cured of all the depression/anxiety/brain fog related symptoms, but I have improved tremendously with them. I'm much more happy and less anxious, and generally just feel a little bit clearer of mind...but I do know I can get better. Here is to recovering man!

I relate to both of those descriptions guys.

When you hit those anxious, depressed days it's tough to remember why you're going through it.

The anxiety was awful for me in my last reboot. I went to the doctor, tried some light meds, and cut back on caffeine. I didn't realize until after a relapse that it was absolutely porn related. It's a wonder I hadn't put two and two together earlier.

This time the anxiety hasn't been nearly as bad (yet). Knowing that it's just part of the process makes it easier.

I feel really lucky, what you two have just described used to be me. Thanks for reminding me how far I have come. Every time I am reminded of how "numbed out and robotic, you could even say automated" I was in real life scares me for a split second. The motivation to stay porn free is given by my current state of mind, where I am more in the moment, able to really interact with people and just enjoy those little but priceless things in life.

    Reboot and rewire,
    Barn

Guys, thanks so much for sharing your "feelings" about depression/anxiety issues. It's not easy. I was in a porn induced haze for many years, and really had no idea what it was. I can very much relate to just being completely apathetic and numb; missed a class, no problem... missed a test, no problem... slept all day on Sunday, no worries...don't feel like going to work, no problem...no ambition to achieve goals, seems normal to me.

    It's a frickin' tragedy.

I looked for answers constantly, and found so many, tried them, and they weren't the full picture....right under my nose was the real answer and it took me twenty years to find it, now that I have I'm so grateful that I did. Cheers.

@40New30 Yeah it is a tragedy. I always remember though that I could have NEVER caught this and it makes me feel a little bit better about the situation. Here's to clearing our minds!

Absolutely right, my man...we could have lived our entire lives in a fog. Thankfully we have been blessed with a chance at new life. Thanks for doing the radio show, it puts a human face (or voice) on all of this, I think it's helpful to a lot of peeps.

Yeah agreed. Honestly though, the lifting of the brain fog was an unexpected benefit for me.

And thanks! It's a lot of fun to do. I hope it's helpful!

I can relate so much to you man,the fog, dream like state etc - you were a huge inspiration to me during my long run! I'm going back to the basics bro, just reboot, lift eat well, study and hopefully get some sugar walls in the near future.

It's really motivating to know that guys like me,foggy, fucked up,no life at all....can literally rebuild themselves and get a GF etc.

I guess it's hard to do it justice in words. When your that low,at that level of functioning it's like you just convince yourself that there's no way out - it's to fucked up.I know what you mean by being sad, extremely depressed but you didn't cry. It's a scary place to be in....But now i know there is hope! I can do it,i can succeed and i'm not going to stop until i fucking win.

    Aussie.

Been awhile since I've been here! Things are going well on this end. I've been able to have an erection every time I've wanted the last three weeks which is tremendous. Feelin' good, livin' betta gents! My response is still really slow though. Takes like 3-5 minutes for things to start moving downstairs and I still don't really....crave sex. I also still have awkward sensitive issues (premature ejaculation) that lingers around, but that has improved leaps and bounds, as well.

You're the man Aussie. Hope you're doing good! And yes, it's totally possible to rebuild your life. For some of us, it takes years, but the recovery process is like climbing stairs. You just don't JUMP to the top, but you gradually make your way closer and closer. You also reap some really nice benefits on the way. :) My favorite "stair" was the one where I got over my general anxiety and panic attacks. It happened 12 months-ish into rebooting. I haven't had a panic attack since. Feels spectacular!

Work for those "stairs" or "levels" or whatever you want to call them. It's the best way to do it because, first and foremost, you're not obsessing on your erections, but also you're focusing on the important things in your life - learning to feel things again. Because that's what it's all about at the end of the day. People wonder what the meaning of life is and what's the point and so forth, but if you are out there feeling stuff and being alive...you already are experiencing the meaning. That's what it is and where it's at.

Yeah man! I hope you like it! Let me know what you think.

It's always good to hear from you. I remember starting up our journals and recoveries simultaneously. :) Hope all is well!

New episode of the YBR show w/ Gary Wilson is live!

This episode was super dense with knowledge and crazy informative. Gary was kind enough to join the show and just drop information bombs the entire time. We talked about his book, porn addiction science, and new YouTube series.

Check it out and as always...let us know what you think/if you have any questions!

    Awesome.

Porn's status as a hyperstimulant, combined with the heightened plasticity of our brains at the time we were exposed, means that the damage done to our brains is deep. But you're steadily proving that this damage can be undone.

    Sick, that.

Hello Fugu and everyone else !

Woaw, what a hopegiving story ! Fugu, I think we have a lot of things in common and I hope I will have as much strainght as you to retain to PMO.

Just one little general question for you or anybody else: Do you ever massage your penis, testicles, scrotum, ... ? You think that would help?

And what about meditation? You ever gave it a try? If so, what kind of meditation, when, how long, ...

Hope you can help me out.

At least I am really happy to notice that I am not the only one with this problem...

    Great Topic !

Hi fugu, how are your desire to have sex or just to kiss women increase during your reboot process?
Your dick is now all time sensitive ?

Question (and sorry if this has already been mentioned) - you can get aroused when you need to - but do you ever crave sex anymore? Not just horny - but do you actually desire and have urges for sex, even when your girlfriend is not around?

Re: "Feelin' Good, Livin' Betta" - 23y/o - Back after a hiatus! Hi erryone ;D

Oh man...it's been a long time since I've been here! I took a healthy and much needed hiatus all things porn induced ED related...it felt pretty good. I do feel pretty guilty I've been gone for so long, I'll try and answer these questions. Just quick: I'm doing really good, and feeling better all the time. Not too much has changed. Just living a health, busy, productive and curious life. :D As far as erections go...they are pretty good! They aren't perfect, but I can get it up 9/10 times which is great progress. I still experience varying levels of "hardness", but it's typically more than hard enough to penetrate. Oddly enough I still experience premature ejaculation pretty frequently - I'm just orgasming way too fast and it doesn't take very much at all for me to ejaculate. I think this is a product of my porn and masturbation history and will dissipate as I go on here. Really not concerned about it at all - something my girlfriend and I laugh off.

Tongya! Good to hear from you. I will definitely drop by!

I'll check it out! Thanks for dropping by :D

My desire isn't fantastic. Honestly, I'm pretty blasé and indifferent about sex until I start about some kissing with my girlfriend. Not too worried though - this seems to be a standard part of recovery for a lot of people. The "fire" and "lust" are seemingly the last things to arrive in a full recovery for long term rebooters. My penis is much more sensitive these days! To be honest, I don't really think about sensitivity too much... but I will say that occasionally I'll notice and feel sensitivity in my penis through the day. Generally at night.

Kinda talked about this in one of the last questions, but not, my desire and lust isn't optimally. Sometimes I do really crave it, but more often than not my sex drive is very low until I start to kiss and whatnot. I truly don't mind this at all for a couple of reasons. One, I'm sure it will emerge with time, and, two, it's kinda refreshing to have sex and all my sexual problems off the back of my mind!
