Also, I think this has been asked before, but how much does a wet dream affect you in how you feel? I just had one last night, and I'm curious.

I'm feeling much more masculine and energetic right now, but it might until tomorrow or even later in the day.

Personally, I find they definitely release a pressure but not in a sexual way. Just a pure physical release of the semen coming out of your body. So you may feel better the next day but not super satisfied. Or maybe this is just something I feel from orgasm while my body still misses PMO.

Overall I find wet dreams a bit uncomfortable. You wake up with a mess in your pants. It's weird. During my longest reboot I was going through many a pair of boxers. Started to get annoyed actually. The dreams are usually entertaining though :).

Yeah. Definitely is a mess. LOL. I personally never found wet dreams to effect me too much though. Lucky me!

Episode 3 is live for our radioshow! Jedimindtricks joined us to talk about all things related to withdrawals. He was a lot of fun to talk with! Here is a shameless plug for his really thoughtful, well written journal: http://www.yourbrainrebalanced.com/index.php?topic=14449.0

    Long-time listener, first-time poster ;)

Mentioned and linked the show on my journal just now. It's a great idea Fugu, I can only imagine that one wasn't created sooner due to the fact that nobody wanted to throw themselves out there like that. It takes some serious Cohones, but I suppose yours are the size of tennis balls by now

You, Jeff and Apeman all compliment each other so well as a unit. Do you have a plan outlined for future topics?

Ah thanks man, really glad you are liking it! I know that next week we are having GABE on and the topic is honestly probably going to be...HIM! A little bit about his story, he is interested in answering a lot of questions that he hasn't answered in other interviews. We're also going to talk about the future and how/when/if porn addiction will emerge as a medical problem and what needs to be done to make this happen faster.

If you have anything you want touched on, definitely let me know!

hey man. I read parts of your journal, learned a lot and got a lot of inspiration. Also I appreciate your reply in my thread that I started a few days ago (http://www.yourbrainrebalanced.com/index.php?topic=21864.msg370341#msg370341).

It amazes me how some people's experience is very similar, and some is completely different. You said that you had exactly the same issues with an orgasm, after 40-50 days of no orgasm streak, one orgasm sends you back to flatline. Does it seem to improve with time?

For me, it's been like that for about a year already. 1-2 orgasm and the flatline continues. last time it took me 50 days or so to feel the libido, now its been 7 days since the last orgasm and still nothing yet. I even went to the doctor to check the testosterone levels, will hear the results next week. I doubt I have any health issues because everything except my libido is fine.

Im gonna wait until I feel a little bit of libido and will start looking for another girl. It's really hard to do so when my dick is dead. And this time around I will avoid orgasm if we have sex. Hopefully by the end of the year the flatline will be gone for good so I can have sex without falling back into it.

Lets keep each other posted on the progress. I really wanna beat this thing, Im sure you too.

Re: "Feelin' Good, Livin' Betta" - 23y/o - huge improvements!

Thanks man! The podcast has been very fun to do. I'm excited!

Life is going really well - honestly, every week and day is better than the last. The ED persist and my refractory period is still really bad...but I care less about it and am doing better slowly always. One thing I have to stop doing is forcing orgasms - many of the O's I have are times when my erections are sluggish, and I think that's a pretty bad thing to do. My girlfriend and I signed a verbal contract for me not to orgasm until September. Gunna nail the ED in the coffin :) Hope everything is well with you Barney, it sounds like life is going great!

Yeah, let's definitely keep each other informed about the situation. A lot of other guys who started very early and intensely with pornography are in similar situations as us. Like I said to Barneybarn, my girlfriend and I agreed verbally to not have an orgasm together until September. This will definitely be the longest streak since my last long no orgasm streak. I think getting 40+ days is key, too. I remember on my 50 day no orgasm and rewiring streak, my morning woods started to become the hardest they have ever been around day 40 and they were present nearly every day for the rest of that streak until I had an orgasm.

Honestly, the key is to really hammer this feeling home. I think that just because we've felt recovered or close to recovered for a week or two doesn't mean we can orgasm - we gotta let our brains sit in this new space for a long while and keep the rewiring going. If we do have an orgasm and fall into another flatline, we simply have to build another long streak, I think. I really do believe that the cumulative affect of all these streaks will end in success!

Good luck with that, Fugu! I'm actually taking a different route for the summer, going to keep orgasming 2 - 4 times per month and see if that rewiring helps my brain wire orgasms to "real women". If ED persists, then in the fall I'll go back for a 60 day streak. I think your way is best, but I want to experiment with a higher O frequency and see if O-wiring helps at all.

    Best.

Thanks for the best wishes! I think some experimenting is always good when it comes to finding the best rebooting path. I always remind myself that at the very worst an orgasm with your partner never HURTS but just stalls the reboot for a bit. Some people have even claimed it was essential! In barneybarn's first reboot orgasms with his partner after a period of abstinence were crucial. Here's the story if you haven't seen it (you probably have): http://www.yourbrainrebalanced.com/index.php?topic=11691.0

Hey man...been reading through your journal, it's given me more determination for sure.

Was just wondering though, how deep were you into porn? How many hours a day did you watch? For how many years? During the escalation of porn usage, how bad/what was your symptoms of depression? Did you get social anxiety?

Re: "Feelin' Good, Livin' Betta" - 23y/o - huge improvements!

Yeah I truly am very very lucky. Not only am I lucky that she's okay with all these weird recovery techniques and tactics I've had to use for such a damn long time ( :( ), but also that I truly care about her. The double package. :D

I was WAY deep into pornography, man. I'm definitely one of the front runners for the worst case here. I saw my first magazine when I was 8 years old, and my first porno movie when I was just about 10. I was on high speed internet pornography by the time I was entering the 6th grade (looking at websites like "juicy clips". Hundreds of 60 seconds clips refreshed daily = tons of novelty). This was before I even MASTURBATED. I started around 7th grade. And GENERALLY was using porn everyday, sneaking upstairs, viewing it in the middle of the night, and creeping back to my bedroom.

My use only accelerated in high school, but somehow I was still able to maintain decent erections. Upon reflection, I now know that things were changing in my sexuality. I was getting into WAY weirder stuff. I remember distinctly NOT being able to get erect to pictures of a girls nake anymore around the 11th grade. It had to be sex on the screen for a boner to even start (pretty deranged). I remember thinking it was weird, but I kept going. I thought maybe it was just me "getting older", but I was SORELY mistaken. I was using every single day at this point, and masturbating at least once a day everyday (most of the time to porn). I got into a serious relationship in the middle of 12th grade and was performing decently well. I definitely had some severe delayed ejaculation, and occasionally the erections would be sluggish, but for the most part I was "functional" and I was able to have normal sex my first time. I do remember having to "hype myself" most of the time (thinking of porn scenes or positions) to become sexually engaged with her. I was STILL using every single day.

Once I got my own laptop, shit went WAY down hill. I started jerking it before school (6am in the morning, WTF) and after school and before I went to bed. I suddenly couldn't perform in bed at all for the life of me. The relationship dissolved three years later and I masturbated three times a day to porn tube sites from the age of 18-21.5. Literally the first three years of college for me. YIKES.

During this period, tons of anxiety. The most anxious, confusing, emotionally numb, and depressing part of my life was these three years. I never cried, never really felt truly happy, and was always seeking different highs. I also never felt thrill or appreciation. Real life was dull, hazy, surreal, and completely unappetizing to be apart of. I was using marijuana pretty habitually during this time, too. I was a fairly socially anxious person, but would never look it - I was always able to entertain and converse with everybody, but I generally just felt anxious and wanted to go home. Honestly writing or thinking about this time in my life makes me pretty emotional because of confused and lost I was...and I wasn't able to recognize or just not willing to think about it critically.

Hopefully you can relate to some of this. A lot of us are the same!

Thanks for describing your mental and emotional state during this dark period in your life Fugu, it's not something I hear very often on this forum these days, funnily enough. Maybe I'm just skipping all of the darker journals by chance, but there never seems to be a solid description of someone who has gone from the depths of my current state to a happy existence. Sure, people mention 'depression' and 'anxiety' all the time, but it's as if they just drop them in as this single word list of standard symptoms, without giving it much thought. It always makes me sceptical about whether they were truly feeling what I am feeling, or maybe just a 'bit sad and bored'. The part in bold is me in a nutshell right now. 'Surreal' in particular is a term I relate to massively. I'll sometimes just stare at things for ages, and when I'm walking down the street, it's as if I'm floating past the passersby, like some sort of apparition, unseen and unfelt.

If you've managed to rescue yourself from that hell, and have a true connection with the world, then that gives me hope. Thanks again.
