I wish I could go back to a "dumb phone" again I really do. My droid is one of the worst things that has ever happened to me in a lot of ways, but now there is no going back.

    *Edit2

You CAN do it. About 2 months ago, I threw my iphone in a river, bought a £13 dumb-phone, and honestly it is one of the best things I have ever done. Not only does it remove a trigger for PMO relapse I am so much more engaged with life and productive. I used to think I couldn't, but just needed a moment of madness and a period trying and I changed completely.

    geddonjones Machete don't text.

I agree entirely, my only trigger is my phone yet I can't control it, I've signed up for a 2 year contract with all the 4g and app access I need.

I'd love to have a low tech phone again.

    Get rid of it then.

    Sell it on ebay.

Is your contract really more important than the potential trigger causing relapse and a potentially miserable life?

  7. The title of this thread is so true. I miss the good ol days. Now the phones do everything, and die a lot faster. Some people say that these smart phones are making people dumb and lazy.

  8. So true. My recent relapses during my reboot were all by way of my iPod or phone. I haven't PMOed on a computer since January 26th 2014 lol it's the damn devices

The only thing I might miss is the GPS, how do you guys deal with an old phone without GPS?
It's really useful for me when I'm lost in a big city

Standalone GPS! bonus is that since nobody really wants them anymore you can probably get a decent one cheap

  11. One thing that was cool about phone gps was that it had realtime updates. I think you can get that with a stand alone gps now, but it probably costs more money. The way I see it, it'll at least save you battery life.

Sorry I forgot to mention I don't drive, I use my gps when Im looking for a particular street in Paris, mostly :p

Anyway Im using my phone for 5 to 10 minutes a day and I don't feel addicted so I'm pretty ok right now. It makes a long time I realised it was better to spend time with real friends than to text internet strangers

    TheHighRiser Shaman, take my hand.

Never wanted a smartphone. Those things just suck our lives off.

I hate smartphones!! Even if I have one. And i hate the Internet, even if i spent days and days and months of my life!! It was fun for a few years, but now it is literally sucking our lives!! Especially porn!
If a group of hackers could simply DESTROY the internet I would be forever grateful and create a religion worshipping those guys. But obviously, I can't think of a hacker who would do such a thing sjnce they are all addicted to the Internet and technology.

As a daily transit rider I see too many men and women focusing on their phone. I suppose if that is what they want to do then they will just focus on their texts, Facebook, email.

Much of society has shifted from reliance on letters and home phones to more passive texting and mobile email. Online dating sites and and message forums.

Love that video, man. Obviously it's exaggerating the issue... but not by as much as I'd like it to be!

It's a damn shame that so many people around the world are being robbed of the essance of experiences because they are constantly dividing their attention between the world and their phone. Worst of all is the new generation of children who have smartphones in their life before they're old enough to make an educated choice - they're going to miss out on so much, it makes me sad.

Smartphone/internet addiction is a far more widespred and dominating addiction than addicton to filmed prostitution in my mind.

I love my phone so much. It is a £10 samsung that calls and texts, and that is -it-. The battery lasts for like a month. Seriously, if you're on the fence about letting go of the smart phone in your life, get a cheap ass phone and just trial it. You'll love it.
