    Day 67 (30/5/23) complete - no youtube, no P.
Day 16 - no web-browsing on my phone, no computer games.
    Day 3 - no M.

I had a girl round yesterday during our first date. You know how it is, it can be a delicate situation. I wanted us to relax and be comfortable and thought she could show me some of her Chinese music that she had mentioned earlier in the date. So we went on youtube and she showed me some songs and I showed her some songs.

As mentioned in my opening post, I used to write myself monthly commitments to not watch porn and youtube. In those commitments I also used to caveat that I could do it while on a date.

So anyway, that's my rationalisation for not resetting the counter. I know it didn't come from an addictive/bored/dopamine-seeking/instant-gratification-seeking place, but rather came from the fact of being on a first date. So I'm cool with that.

Nevertheless, I want to be vigilant to not watch youtube over the next few days.

    Cheers

Does watching youtube give you a rush, you have urges for it?
Or it was just something you used to do to keep you distracted.

    Day 68 (31/5/23) complete - no youtube, no P.
Day 17 - no web-browsing on my phone, no computer games.
    Day 0 (1/6/23) - no M.

The latter. I don't have urges like with P. It's just a bad habit that I've been trying to break for a while.

    Day 72 (4/6/23) complete - no youtube, no P.
Day 21 - no web-browsing on my phone, no computer games.
    Day 1 - no M.

    Add to this list:
After 71 days (or 87 days) no P, I had sex with a new girl, after only having sex with one other girl for the past 2.5 years, and not having had sex at all for the past 4.5 months.

Nice experience last night. She was a nice girl. Quite attractive. The sex was pretty good. Hopefully see her again.

71 days (or 87 days) doesn't sound as good as 30 days back in 2012, but then again I was going out to meet girls pretty much every day back then, it was my main focus, unlike now. I've been through a few dry streaks of several months over the past few years. Ultimately if someone said to me, "go without P for 90 days and I guarantee you'll break your dry streak", then I would have immediately stopped P. It's all worth it.

    Cheers

    Day 83 (15/6/23) complete - no youtube, no P.
Day 32 - no web-browsing on my phone, no computer games.
    Day 8 - no M.

Had sex with that same girl last night. O'd once. At this rate, completing my goal of no M will be easy ;)

Approaching my goal of 100 days no youtube (and no P). These past 83 days have been great. There has been some times when I've exhibited the same kind of addictive, dopamine-seeking, instant-gratification-seeking behaviour as when I watch youtube: watching DVDs for hours; watching Stan for hours; playing computer games for hours. But on the whole, this behaviour has been greatly reduced.

At the end of the 100 days I don't want to simply slip back into watching youtube. I think I'd really need a strong reason for doing so.

First of all, NOT simply for entertainment. That's a slippery slope. I have many other ways of entertaining myself: listening to music, watching DVDs, socialising with friends, reading books etc.

I think I would have to really NEED the information and for that information to not be available anywhere else.
-PUA material? maybe, but I already have lots of books and videos on my harddrive I can look to first.
-Finding new music? maybe, but again I already have lots of music I haven't listened to yet, and there are websites like soundcloud and bandcamp and apps like spotify, and I can just buy CDs from a shop or buy mp3's directly from a website.
-Videos on how to tie a tie? surely there's websites with written descriptions and pictures (or with videos embedded) that can help me figure this out too.
-How to fix my car? again maybe there's websites with written descriptions and pictures (or with videos embedded) that can help me figure this out too, plus I can get help from my Dad and spend quality time with him.
-How to do the correct form for gym exercises? again surely there's websites with written descriptions and pictures (or with videos embedded) that can help me figure this out too, plus I can get help from a PT or from friends I make at the gym.

Ultimately, I might not need to ever go on youtube again. My life hasn't been impacted in any big way by not going on youtube for the past 83 days. If Google/Youtube went bankrupt and closed their servers today, I'd be fine, life would go on.

    Cheers
