I think its funny that flat screens are a fraction of the price they used to be, but solar panels still remains prohibitively inexpensive for the average person. It just reveals that its more important for those in control of the economic system to invest capital in a high definition mind control device rather than technology that would promote grid decentralization and independence. After all, that's really what they want. They want people to be dependent to the system they've built and wrangled everyone into.

Man, what a thread! :D Read it all the way from the start to finish.

I just respond quickly. It´s a matter of choice of how much time you invest on watching TV or following any other type of media and how much you let it affect you. Nothing more, nothing less. I don´t really watch TV anymore, movies are a different case then.

From all of the great stuff I read, this one was my favourite. :)

I think this thread is trivial and too bad that you decided to reanimate it because I hoped that it will be finally closed and forgotten and will not appear in my list of "Show new replies to your posts", especially that your recent post did not bring any new useful information.

  4. There is no such thing like "truth" news media. TV or Internet, the same. The same companies run it.

Yes, people wants objective media, and say "BBC is right, RT not", or "RT is right, BBC not". No. There is no 100% truth in ANY media. ALL media lies.

If you don't watch TV news, but read every bullshit news on the internet and you say "TV lies!" you are wrong.
If you don't read news sites on the internet, but you are watch TV news, and say "News in internet lies!" you are wrong.
    BUT:
if you are watch TV news instead reading news on internet, you probably save more time, because watching is faster than reading.

The same for politics. Every politicians constantly lies.

I haven't read through this thread but I certainly agree with the title. IMHO "legitimate media" is nearly as disingenuous as the porn industry.

“The problem with fiat money is that it rewards the minority that can handle money, but fools the generation that has worked and saved money.”

    - Adam Smith

“At the end fiat money returns to its inner value—zero.”

    - Voltaire

“If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issuance of their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of all their property until their children will wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.”

    - Thomas Jefferson

“The money power preys upon the nation in times of peace and conspires against it in times of adversity. It is more despotic than monarchy, more insolent than autocracy, more selfish than bureaucracy.”

    - Abraham Lincoln

“Give me control of a nation’s money and I care not who makes the laws.”

    - Amschel Rothschild

“I am a most unhappy man. I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. No longer a government by free opinion, no longer a government by conviction and vote of majority, but a government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men.”

    - President Woodrow Wilson (regretting signing into law the Federal Reserve Act)

“It is well enough that people of the nation do not understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did, I believe there would be a revolution before morning.”

    - Henry Ford

“By this means (fractional reserve banking) government may secretly and unobserved, confiscate the wealth of the people, and not one man in a million will detect the theft.”

    - John Maynard Keynes, The Economic Consequences of the Peace (1920)

“The modern banking process manufactures currency out of nothing. The process is perhaps the most astounding piece of slight hand that was ever invented…If you want to be slaves of the bankers, and pay the cost of your own slavery, then let the banks create currency”.

    - Lord Josiah Stemp, Former Director of the Bank of England (1937)

“If the governments devalue the currency in order to betray all creditors, you politely call this procedure “inflation.”

    - George Bernard Shaw

“In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation […] Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the “hidden” confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights.”

    - Alan Greenspan, Gold and Economic Freedom (1968)

Many grownups who were familiar with real life watch something stupid in TV knows it's stupid and laugh it out. And maybe it was no conspiracy but was meant to be as light joke.
Same show when watched by children or early teens having no real life experience even though they might still find it funny it can get mixed up with reality.
